  How Capitalism in a largely unregulated form does not work for anyone but the 1%, and the great need there is for a Universal Basic Income and for strong Unions to bring about fair wages.

  Capitalism works for everyone, especially the poorest. If you are poor, goods at a lower price is exactly what you want. You need more production so that supply increases and a higher standard of living becomes available.

  What doesn’t work is government distortions in the market. They *look like* market failures, but it’s the intervention that causes the problem. There are some incompetent people in the world, but the most incompetent idiot looks like a genius when compared to government bureaucracy.

  It is already starting to happen... in red states.

  Normal can come back if leaders do the right thing and start to discuss what a proper evaluation of risk means. Also, honest discussions around net effects, not just a monomaniacal focus on one unrealistic metric (death count / eliminating the virus). Follow it all up by telling all snowflake objectors that they are going to have to be brave, that they should try not to shit themselves, dye their hair a normal color, and get a job.

  trying to put politics aside (even though that won't really work), but ny governor andrew cuomo is blowing the other politicians out out the water (orange man [trump] and the lizard [biden]).. i don't know if cuomo has a usb port in the back of his head plugged into a hard drive but the guy speaks, analyzes and talks coherently.

  the orange man always passes difficult questions to someone else.

  the lizard can't comprehend what the question is but tries to answer something.. cuomo comes out with facts, analysis and direction on what needs to be done.

  It shouldn't be banned. Just like violent video games shouldn't be banned. We are talking about banning speech.

  The music a culture produces is a symptom of some of the underlying issues. Dare I say, the underlying issues map quite closely to the same issues that produce the "woke" mentality. The reason certain aspects of our society can't seem to get a foothold on prosperity track with the groups that celebrate this crap.

  Rap .... hmm. It’s like that feeling when you go to an art museum and find a display of random real world objects submerged in a jar of urine. You know, the feeling that “artist” is just a synonym for “mentally retarded looking for validation”. But society carves out a niche of importance in much the same way as a heroine addict finds a dark alley to sleep in each night after getting high.

  All I’m saying is that we don’t necessarily have to implement a death penalty. Rather, we give the prisoner a choice. We can, by playing certain music 24x7, and providing good sturdy bed sheets, simply nudge the prisoners to make the right choice. No?

  @min: Yes, because even if everyone at the BBQ is vaccinated and immune, we can't be sure the virus isn't in the cocktail sauce. A very large BBQ would have a lot people eating cocktail sauce. There are indications that the combination of BBQ, cocktail sauce, and small measures of freedom cause the vaccine to become ineffective. It's science.
