Scriptures That Don’t Fit WT Theology
by Sea Breeze inhere’s a couple good ones: a. jesus said, “come to me and i will give you rest”.. why did jesus command us to go to him and not jehovah?.
why does the bible say that the name of jesus is above every name?

Overlapping Generation
by pandorasbox1914 inthe september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.
his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .
no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

I love the photo Vanderhoven7 showed.
Without any words, it proves the absurdity of the overlapping generation teaching.

When Did the Watchtower Introduce the "Generation of 1914" Teaching?
by Ding ini'm looking for help to track down the development of the "generation" doctrine, starting with when the wt first specifically tied the end to the generation of 1914.. russell taught that 1914 would be the end of this system of things.
when that failed, rutherford started touting 1925.. no need to talk about generations then; it was just specific dates.. when did they first tie the end in to a "generation of 1914" time frame?.
i also know that they changed the meaning of generation several times.. first, a person had to have been at least 15 in order to have seen the events of 1914 with understanding of what was happening.. i think they lowered that to 10 and then finally it was anyone who was alive in 1914.. of course, now the generation overlaps.. does anyone know someone where all these wt teachings are set out chronologically (preferably with citations to the literature)?.

Did the Fugazi 1975 Prophecy Really Happen?
by Sea Breeze ini was 12 years old in 1975. how old were you then?
all jw's were counting the years till armageddon.
towing the line was the only thing that would get you through it.

So many JWs running ahead of Jehovah's chariot...
I wonder how that happened, given that all JWs are supposed to believe the same things...

Is the GB equal to God & Christ?
by BoogerMan inw56 6/1 p. 346 par.
rebellion against the slave is rebellion against god.. w57 6/15 p. 370 par.
7 - it is vital that we appreciate this fact and respond to the directions of the “slave” as we would to the voice of god, because it is his provision.. w10 9/15 p. 23 par.

But they don't claim to be infallible or inspired...
No, no, no... they're just humble brothers serving Jehovah like all honest-hearted JWs...

You've been out for years, and you don't think your status is anyone else's business... so why tell the elders anything at all?
That would just stir things up to no purpose, wouldn't it?

Do Jehovah's Witnesses view faithfulness to Jehovah as being equivalent to faithfulness to the Governing Body?
by Vanderhoven7 ini thought this was an interesting response to the question.
"being faithful and loyal to god implies or includes.
being faithful to your spouse (hebrews 13:4),.

They equate Jehovah and "Jehovah's organization."
In Crisis of Conscience, Ray Franz said that even the GB members themselves seemed to think of the organization as if it were a separate entity from themselves, as though "Jehovah's organization" made decisions and set policies, and they only administered them.

Predict JW life in future
by ExBethelitenowPIMA ina sister said the other day at the ministry group “”what is all this talk that the end is still some way off” she said she has been waiting for decades and she was told there is no way it would take this long.
some others said in an annoyed kind of way yes they would have made different decisions decades ago if they knew the end still would not have come by 2023.. how will the majority react in a few more decades time when the end still hasn’t come?.
why all that talk of sense of urgency decades ago?.

They think:
1. I would have made different decisions if I knew the old system would still be here in 2023.
2. Surely now Armageddon is CLOSER THAN EVER.
3. I can't waver now and throw away everything I've worked for my whole life.
4. I must maintain my integrity and stay loyal to Jehovah and his organization.
5. I'll just keep my mouth shut and stay the course.
6. After all, where else can I go?
