  did you watch the story about the jw who was working as a burger boy at some diner and his boss wanted him to work on sunday during the time of his meeting?

  this faithful jw decided he could not attend a later meeting (6 pm sunday meeting) and soon quit his job(or got fired to attend his sunday meeting) so he could attend the sunday meeting he was assigned to.

  i think he was on welfare because this story states he won't work on sunday morning because that's when his meeting is!

  Interesting Pew Stats on JWs--Alarming Trends for the Borg

  someone may have linked to this already, but the this interactive page in the pew religion study is pretty interesting, especially when you look at the trends for jw between 2007 and 2014. here's what it shows:.

  jws are increasingly non-white.

  in fact, the percentage of white jws has decreased from 2007 to 2014 by 12%, while hispanic jws have increased by 8%.

  LOVE this! Hahahh this is biting them in the ass! GB going to sitting there with egg on their faces big time. Think about all those female witlesses ........no hubbies ....no sex! Mostly old men available now ....haha no babies either! Used to be if a sister was over 30 she very well could be sitting on the shelf for the rest of her life. GB have no answers to that. Just wait till the new world, all the little boys will grow up and you will get younger and shazzamm......... a hubbie for you too....aaww! What a fricken crazy cult. All those poor young sisters today better start working toward a career, because there are only a handful of old men or nerds to pick from today!!!!

  when i started my fade i called my father to talk to him about some stuff that was bothering me.

  i got absolutely nowhere.

  he read matthew 24:45-47. i finally asked him that if the governing body asked him to jump off of a bridge would he do it.

  My daughter attacks me instead of addressing whatever I say! Drives me nuts .....so I understand what you are saying FloodGuy. I just can't be credible in her eyes, every word I say is translated into a negative in her mind! The stronger her shunning becomes the sadder & more depressed I become! How dare those ugly cult leaders take my own child away!!!!! Did they give birth to her? Did they raise her, go thru chicken pox, influenza and measles with her, or stay up all nite at the hospital with her! Oh I am so indignant over this I could go on forever!

  Celebrating Holidays Should Be a "Conscience Matter"

  the witnesses seem to love to make things a "conscience matter" and then just shame people into doing whatever it is they want them to do anyway.

  so, why haven't they done this with the holidays?

  there are plenty of scriptures in their own bible they could use to justify making it a conscience matter, yet the last i knew, celebrating christmas was still a disfellowshipping offense.

  The whole point for Rutherfords condemnation of any holiday, is control! To keep the rank& file from associating with non jw family. Celebrating xmas or thanksgiving dinner with our 'folks' would be too enjoyable ...we might choose family over watchtower. Our family would eventually wake us up!

  "I'm an old timer, so I remember when a talk from a GB member said, "The day we have to ask for donations, is the day we know we're finished." Well, I don't think he meant it the way that we take it today.

  Anyone else remember how proud the org. was, when they touted that they were not like Christendom, in that they never asked for donations, never would, and would never have to, due to their confidence in God's support?

  Pearl ..........oh ya ...I remember! The most attractive thing about the witnesses was when they declared that NO COLLECTION Plates will ever be passed in the kh! No asking for money. Ever! The day they ran out of money ...that would be the day they would close! Then slowly more & more money shortfalls at the conventions "started happening" ! More Real Estate was gobbled-up. Until now the money is their god!
