Hmmm this part disappeared ........>
Can't be said any better than that Terry!
that was a question posed to me by a friend who just recently discovered my switch from one who used to have a belief in god to one that has a lack thereof.. they stated "most people i know, including your truly, were not much interested in closely following the tenants of the faith we were brought up in when we were in the prime of our young adulthood.
you on the other hand, were much more zealous back then and now have pretty much left it all behind.
surely it is not because you are not sowing your oats at this time.".

"You turn to God and you postpone the one important next step of fixing the problem.
God is postponement of taking your life into your own hands and setting about the repair.
You postpone the important things long enough and one day . . .your whole life is behind you with nothing real.
It is all a promise of a better tomorrow and a ruined highway of nothing behind"

i was looking at the universal declaration of human rights posted at un.org and also the description of what constitutes a violation of religious freedom at uslegal.com .. .
according to the declaration of human rights:.
article 18.. everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.
Seems kind of strange in a day when " bullying"
is on the forefront, and so much effort put into
stopping it. Always talk shows about school
& internet bullying. Yet religious/cult bullying
is not even considered! Maybe we need to do
more advertizing!
someone suggested i post an introductory thread.
i am a married, rather young grandma of four precious rugrats, ages 2-9. i guess our only child son and his only child wife didn't want their own kids to be "onlies".
my other half and i married rather young (18 &22) and will be celebrating 31 years together this summer.. i am sort of add, keep thinking i am still 28, love my husband now more than ever, and am so glad i woke up and left the crazy cult.. my husband and i began studying months after marrying and then decided to take the dunk.
That is quite a marvelous statement...
"And now I am living like I mean it!
Huge welcome to you Forest & congratulations

caring for the needy not!
when i first became a jw in the late 1960s and all the years thereafter, the watch tower society would frequently boast about the loving care and concern that jws show among themselves, providing for the needy during disasters, even helping the world.
the society would publish in the magazines, or comments at conventions about how the world observed our efficiency and overwhelming spirit of giving.. what about the rest of the year?
The bottom line is .... he made them look bad
by comparison!
a lawyer once told me, "everything you say can and will be twisted against you in a court of law.".
a situation came up that recalled yet another act of jw justice.
another person commented to me regarding the above, "no doubt this little axiom more than applies in judicial committee meetings too.
Londo111 thank you so much for all these

as long as you control a person with guilt and fear, you control them forever!
on one judicial committee i served, we had a young 25 year old man meet with us.
he requested the meeting, as is the case almost 100% of the time when it involves the secret 'sin.'.
Wow.....can't imagine how mortified this young man will
feel, if & when he wakes up & catches on to watchtower BS.
In some way or another, watchtower has made jerks of all
of us (no pun intended)!

this is quite embarrassing for me to share, but as a 30+ year old single female i have lingering doubts as to whether i can still meet a decent man and get married.. you all know how difficult it is for sisters to find an appropriate partner in the congregation.. and now, all the more so that i've learned ttatt.
i still am bound by low self-esteem, and i do have trust issues, especially with men.
i am very lonely and so i just keep myself busy with work to avoid depression (although it is also a great source of stress).. any other single females out there having similar thoughts?.
Hi Mandette nice to see you on here. I remember
when I first joined in 2010 .... you commented on
one of my first threads! Thanks btw.
