even tho i grew up in the org, so much that once seemed normal behavior now seems so bizarre and even cruel.
i have run into at least 3 people from our old cong since the memorial (i didnt attend) anyhow i have noticed how each time they go out of their way to say hello and flash me a big bright smile, only to immediately avert their eyes and end any possible commitment to a conversation.
i dont really care as i dont have anything to say to them anyhow.
Bumped into a pioneer who I had known for 35 yrs.
She pointed her finger at me as she circled around
me in the store, sniggering all the while ...
omg all I could do, was stand there with my mouth

She has pioneered much of her life, never married or
had children or her own home! Wears the same plain
boyish clothes she wore in her 20's.
I really fear for her if she ever sees the real truth

conspicuous bulletin board at back of the hall.....

I found this to be the choke-hold to force participation.
In fact, I never realized until looking at that list, that I
was now obligated to keep up with the norm...or else be
hated by 'the friends'
