to thank you for taking the time to read this, because i feel that it is extremely important.

over the years we have been waring against the watchtower, and our battle field has been the internet.and we have been very successful in establishing discussion forums and online resorces exposing false teachings and we have used youtube to further shed light on the watchtower, we have even written books to this end.. .

yes we have attacked watchtower at its weakest point, the internet and we have been able to do this as small groups and even individualy.

Hi excaliber, I love your passion, however getting exJWs to unite against the WTBTS is like herding cats. Have you ever tried to heard cats?

If you can discover an exJW catnip and can promote a vision that exJWs and non-JWs can support as individuals, then I am in. I tried to promote on JWN about writing/petitioning the U.S. government to add additional requirements for non-profit organizations to the tax codes in the thread: URGENT: Please Sign White House Petition to "Protect Americans from Dangerous Cults: Modify USC Title 26 § 501 Tax Exemption Requirements" and It's Back! . . . Round 2.. The reaction that I got from exJWs was not pretty.

I'm still convinced that disallowing deductions by JWs if the WTBTS does not comply with tax code requirements is the best way to change the WTBTS (and other dangerous cults) and without compromising the U.S. Constitution.

it seems most of the us growth is in spanish-speaking territory, and of course, there is growth in the nations where spanish is the predominant language.

most sites oriented around ttatt, are english-speaking.

there seems then to be a great need for translators...for instance, imagine if there was a spanish version of www.jwfacts.com.. unfortunately, i dont speak this language.

Hi Simon, If a native-speaking person would volunteer to be a moderator for a non-English forum, would you be willing to create at least one forum in another langauge? It should be easy enough to start a friends forum in another language where people can introduce themselves, vent their frustrations, and/or ask for help.

I use Google Chrome and its translation features to get the gist of non-English webpages very frequently.

To maintain the integrity of JWfacts, I feel that at least 3 translators would need to translate one webpage. The first translator would translate the page; the 2nd translator would review what the 1st translator wrote and make grammer, spelling, and translation differences; and the 3rd translator would resolve any disagreements in translations, grammer, and spelling. It would probably help if all the translators would at least sign thier translation with at least their first name and last initials followed by (last name withheld because of reason) on each webpage.

I feel that more than one translator is needed because look how Bible translators disagree with each other of words like pornea. Some peope translate pornea into fornication and others into sexual immorality. To me there is a major difference between fornication and sexual immorality.

Just sent letter to my parents that I no longer want to be a JW

both parents are uber dubs and mother has been depressed lately.

Black Sheep - You don't have to throw the whole trash can at them. I reckon it's better to do a thorough job on one subject than a half pie job on several. Pick one that undermines selection as God's channel as that is the sand the whole castle is built on.

Hi ?evrything, DITTO what Black Sheep said. Whle I was studying with a brother at the insistance of a former friend who is a "Spiritually Strong" (non-thinking) JW, I was able to prove that the Blood doctrine could not be justified with the Bible because the brother switched to trying to prove that the Bible states that God works through an organization. Back then I did not know how to handle that switching of topics. Now I know better and I feel I know how to disprove that Jesus Christ would want an organization to represent God.

How would your parents respond to you if you asked them, "I love you more than I love the WTBTS. What would I have to show/prove to you to love me more than the WTBTS so that you do not shun me?" Life is too short to talk about the WTBTS.

To help reduce the translation work-load, I would recommend using Google translate or http://www.freetranslation.com/ to initially translate webpages from JWfacts and then have native Spanish speaking translators edit the final copy.

As far as handling English quotes, IMHO I would reference the English quotes, provide a Spanish translation, and include a comment on webpages to ask for images of WTBTS Spanish magazines to update webpages in the future.

i am reading "teach your child how to think" by edward de bono.

right now im learning about attributes of a good thinker.

throughout oart 1 of the book it states that critical thinking and just learning information is not enough.

Hi DS211, IMHO critiical thinking means to do your own independent research, think for yourself, and come to your own conclusions/decisions. What I like and is good for me, may not be good for everyone else. A little skepticism is a good thing. Children/adults should be encourage to do independent research, embrace change when there is a positive benefit for them and not just to change, and to be a little skeptical when other people try to influence a person to believe as they do.

To be a JW means to not critically think for yourself and to do what the leaders say even if it is not in ones best interest. If you are having troubles making time-sensitive decisions (i.e., cooking, going to a movie), is it possible to ask yourself what is the worse thing that can happen to you? As a JW, the worst thing was being shunned/marked. Since you are no longer a JW, the worst thing is you may not like your decision, but there are no long-term consequences.

Is my mind still controlled???.....Is yours????

we are all set for a lovely xmas week and nice holiday, but this image is indellably printed in my brain and i cannot erase it.. .

it's from the bible teach book, chapter 16 para 11. i did that many bible studies and trained them how we need to make a stand for true worship and not ever return to pagan practices.. so now over this season of good will, and fun i have a literal bitter taste.. are you having flash backs?

how can we remove these images from our brain?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year KateWild! The fact that you ask yourself the question means that you are well along your way to healing. Fill your life with happy new memories to overcome those unhappy old memories.

I also belive that Steve Hassan mentions in CCMC about recovering from cult phobias by re-living memories with your new feelings. If you feared Christmas as a child, remember those moments and feel how much happier you would have been if you could have celebrated them.

Need Advice about Grandparents/Blood Doctrine

my in-laws are taking my little boy to a different state for small trip and the want me to create a document stating they are allowed to take him over state lines.

which is fine.

my husband would like for me to construct the document and include information concerning medical decisions and that they are only to be made after contacting the parents.

Hi SnailsPace2, Why do your in-laws feel they need this document? Can they specifically say what law requries them to have such a document? I do not know of any U.S.A. laws that require such a document.

If you do give them a written document, just list all your phone numbers including mobile numbers and email addresses for the doctors to contact you.
