  Top STUPID criticisms of the WTS

  there are certainly enough valid criticisms of the wts and the jw religion, but a significant number of often-repeated criticisms of the religion are, imnsho, just ludicruous and serves to take attention away from the real issues.

  significant problems with the wts includes, but are not limited to, the shunning policy, the blood issue and of course the corporate policy of hiding child molestors.. here is a list of criticisms of the wts that i find particularly annoying to see:.

  russell was a freemason (or, even worse, the wts is part of some other large-scale conspiracy like the illuminati).

  It seems to me that the word 'cult' when used in connection with a religious group should properly refer to a group that adores (i.e. worships) an individual leader.

  But surely you would agree that and 'individual leader' does not necessarily have to be a single human being. Is there much difference between "we believe because [so and so] says x" or "we believe because [the society or GB] brought out point x"..

  (a) devotion or homage to a person or thing (the cult of aestheticism)

  The 'thing' in this case is the monolithic entity called 'the society'.

  That said I don't think cult is the best word to describe the JWs, simply because most people associate cult with Heaven's gate or Branch Davidian type groups, which are perceived (rightly so) as significantly farther 'out there'.. However JWs do share many many harmful characteristics with these groups. And I believe JWs 'worship' the society in the way other Christian groups worship Jesus.

  I got both Morrowind and NWN .. Though neither is flawless, both are worth the money IMHO.. And both should be getting interesting mods as time goes on.

  Letter from society on donating blood

  here are the scans of a letter from "the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses" regarding a brother's inquiry about donating blood.

  this letter is printed in greg stafford's new book "three dissertations on the teachings of jehovah's witnesses".. the scans are not that great but it was the best i could do.. .

  It is not the prerogative of the "faithful and discreet slave" class to rule on each product or technique

  Did they actually write that?? Has there ever been anything that the so-called F&DS didn't feel it was its prerogative to rule on?? What hypocrites.

  And it sounds as though they are they discouraging JWs from donating blood for use as fractions because a single person's blood doesn't amount to much when used for fractions?? Could this be any more self serving and irresponsible?

  I think apostates should drive around until they see a JW car group. Then just work the territory in plain view of the witlesses. Or get a list of JW houses, go call on them with the latest apostate literature.

  Then we will see how much the JWs REALLY care about protecting free speech.

  Underlying the demons obvious relentless drive to initiate a global holocaust

  Why would demons do something so stupid as perpetuate the 'tribulation' which will ultimately culminate in their incarceration and eventual destruction?? Demons would have to be stupid to do this; what demons and satan would do, if they actually existed instead of being fantasy beings conceived by ancient tribesmen, is work on bringing peace to mankind. If the world was peaceful, Satan would effectively win over God, he could say look I have brought peace, and didn't have to murder all the non christians to do it.

  The whole thing is a joke and You Know sounds like a foaming-at-the-mouth sackcloth-wearing homeless person ranting in the streets at anyone who will listen. He might as well be claiming imminent proof that the sun revolves around the earth.
