What a bunch of slimeballs. I remember an MS in my old congregation actually wrote a letter to Crooklyn complaining about the bullying attitude of some of the elders and the negative impact it was having on the congregation. You've got 3 guesses as to what the outcome of that was:

Crooklyn immediately began an investigation and removed the elders who were brow-beating the sheeples;
Crooklyn thanked the MS for coming forth and promoted him to being an elder who obviously had the congregations best interests at heart
Crooklyn told the local gestapo to "deal with him" for daring to question his superiors; they in turn, tore him a new @ss, removed him from being an MS and had him down as being unofficially "marked" for going above their heads.

Exactly. For what he purposely schemed and planned, he should have been put to death. Hell, he wasn't even remorseful until whats-his-name brought the matter to his attention with the 'I-know-what-you-did-last-summer' speech. Under the Mosaic law, even if you accidentally killed someone you had to high-tail it to the City of Refuge in order to avoid being put to death. David was apparently so special in God's eyes, that not even that law was implemented.

after hearing what i was told i was so pumped up with holy spirit i thought i was going to crawl right out of my own skin .

A very interesting story Merrill; thanks for sharing it. Unfortunately, it is very rare to get a 'open' discussion on the topic of anything spiritual on this board anymore (unlike the old days) and unless you're a 100% confirmed materialist, you're viewed as being off your rocker or on drugs if you dare to agree with anything this isn't written by Richard Dawkins or can't be dissected in a lab under controlled studies. In other words, many are just as closed minded now as what they were when they were Witnesses; just for different reasons.

One of the most fascinating and compelling experiences I've heard on NDE's is what happened to Dr. Eben Alexander, a well established neurosurgeon who had always thought that people who had these experiences were either delusional or hallucinating and that when you died, that was it---the lights went out end of story. When he had his own NDE, it made him re-evaluate everything he had been taught about the human mind, consciousness and the afterlife. His story can be heard here.

Message at yesterdays assembly

a relative of mine was at the assembly yesterday and was appalled at the message givien before lunch:.

she heard them blast higher education...then warn to not miss meetings for work...then they gave the stupidest illustration i ever heard- they said that it is true that supporting your family is important...but not to give it too much importance and said it is like trying to cross a busy street.

they said if you see a car a long distance off it is ok to cross, if you are too careful you will never cross the street.

I'm seriously considering going to an ASSembly with a recorder so I can upload in on here. I hate the thought of doing it, but I think it's beneficial for people to hear just how crazy the Organization is getting.

now is a good time to start making preparations for the memorial night demonstration at your kingdom hall thursday, april 5, 2012, after sundown.. close to 20 million people will attend this annual global witness event including active witnesses, relatives and friends of witnesses, bible studies,return visits and still attached former witnesses.

the evils of the watchtower org.have to be exposed and this is an ideal time to do it.. many around the world have been adversely affected by their association with jehovah's witnesses and you can be an instrumental force by standing tall and courageously exposing the watchtower organization.. there is no better way to let the watchtower know your revulsion than to broadcast and present your view by standing fearlessly, demonstrating in front of a kingdom hall.. i am fully aware that a handful of the internet therapists who post on this forum will not agree with this method of unmasking the watchtower.. those intolerant, contemptuous critics who will comment on this thread making harsh judgements and finding fault with those who protest are perhaps deep-down wishing they had the backbone to stop hiding in cyber-space, step away from their computer and "get out of the bleachers and into the game" .

lets make this a global event!......

Protesting outside a KH on Memorial night trying to get Witnesses out, is about as effective as Witnesses standing on the street corner with their magazines, trying to get people in. And we're still waiting for that video you promised us after last year's 'protest', Rick. You know, the one where you said that Witnesses were giving you the two thumbs up? Where is it? Did I miss it?

Ladies and gentlement, Rick continues to post his silliness here because he appears to have a narcassitic personality. He also seems weirdly addicted to how many "views" his threads get and seems to think that he's the next best thing to Jesus Christ because one of his videos has over 300,000 'views'. Well, a farting contest on youtube has over 1.7 million views, so I wouldn't be too excited over your tally yet.

After all the strange things you've lied about on here (and have been caught at), I would think if you had any shred of self-respect left, you'd just slink away and continue doing.....whatever it is that you do. Instead, you repeatedly post ridiculous threads, knowing full well what kind of response you're going to get, so it would appear that our answers satisfy your 'persecution complex'.

one thing that i have always noticed even when i was a jw is that the jw org has lots and lots and lots of rules for allsorts of stupid petty rules which make no difference.

when you read the bible you see how they are clearly in the wrong here and are acting like the pharisees themselves, who imposed so much pressure on others to conform to the law.

am i missing something here!?!?

Oh egghead. Do you actually read (or even think) before you post? All the entire quotation confirms is that JW's will do anything to be "different" from 'worldly people'. If you're sitting down and the anthem plays, you can't stand up. But if you're already standing, you don't have to sit down but you're not allowed to sing the anthem. The very fact that you were dumb enough to say that Jehovah's Witnesses do not refuse to stand for the National Anthem is a bold-faced lie since I provided quotes that shows that Witnesses are not supposed to stand for this. Plus, do you think we're stupid? How many of us on this board had to face the humiliation every morning in school, when we had to stand outside the classroom while the singing of the anthem went on? The very fact that you are trying to claim that this isn't the case is just one more nail in your coffin. Not that you'd be smart enough to recognize it, but carry on.

As long as @Simon permits me to post messages here to his website, as long as he doesn't declare JWN to be an apostate website, it remains a website for anyone that wishes to discuss topics that are either peculiar or related to Jehovah's Witnesses, including those who are actively Jehovah's Witnesses;

You also claim to have heard most often when you were a child that Jehovah's Witnesses 'let their children die rather than take a blood transfusion'? I don't believe you. You may have heard as a child what the position of Jehovah's Witnesses was with respect to blood transfusions, but I don't believe as a child you could have understood it very well or that as a child you could have explained our position to anyone.

Ah yes, that's right. When you have nothing to fall back on, I must be a liar right? Is English your second language? Or your third? I already explained how and why I knew what the blood doctrine entailed as the subject came up time and time again when my sister needed surgery. It's not too difficult to comprehend when you hear the elders talking to your parents about it and when you hear them say how they 'must remain faithful to Jehovah's Organization' if and when the subject of blood came up during one of my sisters' many surgeries and how even if she died, it would only be a few years before my parents saw her again because The End was coming in 1975.

So please don't try and tell me what I could and I could not understand as a child you moron, because you haven't a frigging clue what you're talking about.

There is no "baby" that has ever needed a blood transfusion.

The fathers did the abuse but the mothers closed their eyes and if not condoned certainly turned a blind eye to the possibility of it happening. And far too often the mother blames the child or even worse knew and did nothing.

Lee, IMO these women turn a blind eye to the abuse for one reason: They are needy, stupid women who can't seem to live without a man in their lives and they are willing to sacrifice children's lives and safety, as long as the loser-pig walks comes home at night. That's truly the only reason I can think of. Unfortunately, your mother seems to really know how to pick them.

My grandmother's step father tried molesting her when she was about 10 years old. Fortunately she was very fiesty and she kicked him in the balls so he didn't try it again. When she went to tell her mother what he tried, her mother beat her for "telling lies". Dumb, stupid woman who just couldn't live without a man in her life and she was willing to sacrifice her own daughter just to make her own life more comfortable.

in 1517, martin luther wrote in a letter to archbishop albert of mainz: you must graciously forgive that i, that scum of the earth, am so bold as to dare to address a letter to you.. yes, i know, you think of me as scum, just like mainz believed of luther, wondering how i dare write you a letter, someone jehovahs witnesses disfellowshipped back in 2002. i was accused of being an unrepentant sinner and condemned for causing divisions, then labeled apostate because i spoke out publicly on nbcs dateline tv program aboutthe child sexual abuse policies that protected pedophiles policies that you helped formulate.

An excellent letter Barb. For those that view the letter as a waste of time, or pen and paper, I would like to say that I doubt very much that Barbara thinks that they're suddenly going to reverse their view of all of us as being "mentally diseased" for leaving the Borg. But since it hit close to home, she probably found it very therapeutic.

I called the Writing Department after my brother in law died and asked them point-blank how they can sleep at night knowing their policy on blood transfusions is killing people. I did not phone them thinking that they'd suddenly do an about-face, but because it was therapeutic.

I actually would have loved to have seen the look on whoever opened the envelope and started reading. LOL!

The point Celestial, is that there is no biblical rule being broken with regards to accepting a blood transfusion.
