Someone who lives in this area should send a letter to the editor about this one. I did this back in Omaha a few years ago when the local JW elder was lying about the blood issue.

here's a puff-piece in the danville, kentucky, usa newspaper.
it looks like it was written by a public relations representative of the wts and published word-for-word.
the news was that a spanish congregation has been added.

my mother called me in a tizzy saying that her friend heard that letters were read and a talk was given in 2 different congregations saying that the society's new policy is that if a elder, m.s.
or pioneer attends an "unequaled" wedding----they will be removed from their exemplary positions because they are "disloyal to jehovah god"........what do you think about this one?
?
We had a situation where a member of our Hall who was baptized was marrying a lady who was studying. The elders would not participate in the wedding since the lady was not baptized. So, they decided to do a justice of the peace ceremony at a local reception hall. They sent out invitations to people at the Hall since ALL of their best buds were JWs. In fact, a lot of people in the Hall were helping with the planning of the wedding.
The wedding was scheduled for a Saturday evening. The Thursday evening before the wedding, the PO gave a local needs talk at the Service Meeting basically telling everyone NOT to go to the wedding. I thought it was a pretty crappy thing to do.

strategies of the jehovah's witnesses .
there may be no religious organization that engages in more publishing, proportionately to its membership, than the watch tower bible and tract society (watch tower society or wts for short)?the publishing arm of the jehovah?s witnesses.
each month jehovah?s witnesses (jws) distribute millions of books, magazines, and pamphlets, in dozens of languages.
No, I did not write that but I do know about Catholic Answers. One of their apologists wrote a book entitled "Answering Jehovah's Witnesses". His name is Jason Evert. You can get a copy at amazon.com
It is a pretty good book if you are curious about a Catholic response to the JWs.

Yes, there was.
Our entire body of elders was deleted back in the early 1990's. Not sure why except to say that most of them did not get along with the CO at that time. His name was Mason. They brought in two of Mason's picks from a neigboring congregation to run the show. One seemed bothered by the situation. The other was a clear yes man if you know what I mean.

i don't know if this question has been posted before, but for those of you who learnt the truth about the organization, how did you deal with any bible studies you had at the time?.
did you come straight out and say, "excuse me, but everything i have been teaching you is a load of crap"?.
did you terminate the bible study?.
When I was in the process of leaving I did not have any studies. However, one day I conducted a study with a man who was studying with a friend of mine. I think my JW friend was hoping that if I conducted the study it would get me back in the swing of things. I was explaining to this man how the JWs came up with the 1914 year. While I was explaining I realized that I did not believe in it anymore and that it was really a rather ridiculous teaching. I knew at that moment that I would never be able to teach that doctrine "as the truth" again.

so it is well known that this religion has spies...my mom used spies at my school to get information about me.
many haveposted their own experiences about spies.
i want to know more about it on a large scale.. like, "watchers" at a convention?
I think it is common knowledge that the housekeepers at Bethel search the belongings of Bethelites for signs of illegal contraband.

I'll have to ask my wife that question. She keeps track of these things for me.

suggest a good name for a spin-off religion to the jws.
Actually we had a group break off in South Louisiana that called themselves Jehovah's Christian Witnesses.

i had a discussion recently with someone who is leaving the jws.
i told them this story about huck finn.
huck's slave, jim, uses a hairball to tell the future.
I had a discussion recently with someone who is leaving the JWs.
I told them this story about Huck Finn. Huck's slave, Jim, uses a hairball to tell the future. He drops it on the floor says some words over it and then tells Huck his future. He basically tells Huck sometimes you gonna be sick and sometimes you gonna be well. He says that he will have good times in life and sometimes bad times, etc. etc.
Some kind of future telling, I guess Jim was covering all of his bases.
It seems to me that the Watchtower uses the same hairball to tell the future as Jim the slave. If you watch the evening news and you see war break out-then the end of the world is near. If you watch the news and the politicians are saying the war is over and peace has come, then the end of the world is near....I guess they have all of their bases covered.

in a public talk, a brother stated that in a recent year the organization in the us would have had a 3 % increase.
but only reported a 1 % increase because of the large number of disfellowshippings ( i.e.
since he has a son.
We can only hope that this trend continues!!!!
