  Is this a new "This Generation" or not?

  first of all i want to express my sincere gratitude to atlantis and his good friends for making this 2014 book available.. ------------.

  as i see it, and i am absolutely open to contradiction, the wts appears to be giving another new meaning to this generation.

  this time the term means all of his anointed followers, including his immediate disciples.

  I was at my in-laws the other day, JW lifers, my father-in-law came in during the '75 push .... I do what I can to help them out, he is in his mid 70's and his health is terrible, he retired from a good job and had a nice retirement plan, unfortunately he kept taking out more and more to help others as he was certain the end would come soon and he never expected to grow old in this system, ... he is in his chair in his bedroom, he rarely leaves it, and he yells out to his wife, who is in the living room at the other end of their small house, in a puzzled and depressed tone ... "[dear wife], just how long is a generation?" ... mother-in-law responds ... "(long sigh), I don't know [dear husband], I don't know."

  gggolovkin not quite following you buddy ... the teapot that is orbiting the sun somewhere between Earth and Mars apparently has a radio transmitter as i was able to intercept a signal from it that had the MP3 audio of the convention, it transmits on a very obscure frequency that few are able to tune into ... prove that it's not true

  Doug, I noticed this too. It seemed a little odd but then they went into the overlap mumbojumbo. It almost seems like they prefaced the overlap with the 1927/2008 understanding. Perhaps this will make it easier to switch back again when necessary.

  Can't access some of the site

  Roll call of those of us stuck in for our spouse or whos spouse is still in!

  i just wanted to get a feel for how many here have awakened to ttatt but are still carrying on some jw activities to pacify them and keep the peace.

  also trying to hear from those who have left, but whose spouse has stayed in the wt and in the marriage.. for me it comes down to my own mental anguish.

  i am mentally tortured by attending the meetings, yet i feel compelled to because my wife would kill me with her personality if i had her drag 2 small girls by herself there.

  Crazyguy ... your post is a mirror of me, i had to double check to see if your IP sign wasn't my own LOL (in a painful sort of way). Like roomates is exactly how I describe it too. The past two years nothing on our anniversary from her. I did the flowers, the card, tried to take her out for dinner. For me, our relationship unfortunately started down this road a long time ago, except as a believer, I just figured I would hold on, JW's don't split up, the New System™ would be here Soon™, everything would be blissfulness then ... now that hope is gone.

  Yes, I have completely stopped. She has known for four years, I let it all out too soon and then had to retreat. She immediately called an elder who set up a meeing. I kept going to meetings and service, I stopped service after about a year, I cut my meeting attendance off gradually and stopped going to hall after about two years. I haven't been to a meeting since Memorial 2013 and I did go to the convention that year too. Haven't been to anything JW related since. I suppose you could say I have faded, but with family dynamics as they are, I don't see that as a permanent deal. Since I keep trying to reach my kids, I imagine the Borg will have to deal with me eventually.

  i heard that on sat the jws released a new book at the convention god's kingdom rules.

  is it a verse by verse of ezekiel or daniel?

  does it mention the "overlapping generation"?
