LOL... now I'm picturing the follow up to having dropped your ipad, and your reaction, and that is pretty funny!
Though I am sorry about your ipad, because that is pretty expensive!
Peace,

yep,.
i dropped my ipad on the floor and it cracked like a fresh sheet of blue crystal on breaking bad.
if the hollywood movie esque crack in the glass of my favourite posession wasn't enough, as it hit and smashed, i turned from my careful aiming and accidently peed all over my prized apple device.... when it rains....it pours.. listening to opie and anthony radio show so much so as to carry my ipad with me during midnight toilet trips, now seems excessive and regrettable.. get out, get out, get out of the toilet my people.....my apple, the great, has fallen..... .
LOL... now I'm picturing the follow up to having dropped your ipad, and your reaction, and that is pretty funny!
Though I am sorry about your ipad, because that is pretty expensive!

thedog1 said.............. hi sam.
i just listened to your jc hearing for re-instatement.
without knowing the details of what happened it is difficult to make a comment on it but here goes.
Peace to you, thedog1!
Here are Christ's own words. They do not match Paul's (who later got it right and understood the truth from the Truth (Christ), as shown when he told people NOT to judge, as opposed to telling people TO judge early on in his ministry. You know, like getting new light... only the truth never changed or grew, Paul was simply mistaken, as he contradicted what Christ has specifically taught on this issue. Perhaps due to Paul's previous reliance upon the old law and its rules/consequences) Christ's words CERTAINLY do not match the procedure of the wts.
But here are the words of Christ:
"If your brothers sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witness.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector."
(thank you to my sister who recently brought up this passage)
So first:
Go and show the one who has sinned against you his fault.
That is kind of self-explanatory, or should be at least.
If he doesn't listen... then take one or two others along.
Yes... YOU... take one or two others along with you. So that YOU are present, regarding the sin done against you. (there is no 'judical committee' here. Nothing in this is even remotely close to the wts practice, but absolutely 100% AGAINST Christ)
If he does not listen to THEM, THEN take the matter before the church.
Again, self-explanatory. No secret jc meetings. No... so and so was df'd or is not longer a witness... for any unnamed reason. Everything is out in the OPEN.
If he does not listen to THEM, THEN you treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
And how would you treat someone as you would a pagan or a tax collector, according to Christ? Would you not love them, as you are told to love your enemies and bless those who persecute you?
Did He not also say...
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your father in heaven. He causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good; and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
So I guess it depends on who you are following and listening TO.
On another point, that might be best in its own topic... as to keeping the congregation clean. Christ makes a person clean. His blood. His Body and those members OF His Body, are made clean in 'the blood of the lamb'.
But how can a congregation be clean when it is the blood of Christ that makes one clean and grants forgiveness of sins... and almost all IN that congregation are taught to refuse to come into the new covenant in his blood?
"This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you."
Some things you may want to consider.
Peace to you,
tammy
should we use jesus' advice john 8:7 or god's advice .
leviticus 20:10?
.
If one wants to punish an adulteress according the law... then one should expect that the law will also be used to judge them. Since there are NONE who have not transgressed the law, and since 'by the measure you use, it will be used against you'... one might want to consider showing mercy and forgiveness and love (the law written on hearts and consciences).
Show mercy, receive mercy.
I just don't see anyone who judges others... would want to also be judged by the same measure they are using against other people. Because it doesn't matter if you never committed adultery, but instead perhaps bore false witness; or showed no mercy, or did not forgive. If you want to BE forgiven and shown mercy, then be forgivING and merciFUL.

after serving in an appointed position for over 26 years (21 elder, 5 ms,14 pioneer), i have no more dreams of paradise, bored at the meetings, do not enjoy the field ministry.
the desire to do anything is gone.
i want to believe in something!.
The desire to do anything may be gone because you know that they (the wts) are not the truth... so what is the point in slaving away for something that is untrue? What is the point in investing yourself, your emotions, your time, your very life... in something that is not true?
If you want to know the Truth (so as to be able to put your faith in God, now knowing the truth about Him)... and not some version of the truth that an organization is feeding you... then consider tearing down everything that they taught you about God, right down to the cornerstone, who is Christ. Because when you know Christ... THEN... you will know God.
There is no other way.
Peace to you as Christ gives peace, and ears to hear this truth if you wish them,

i've been developing this thought in my head for a few weeks.
let's address this from a theists perspective and from the perspective of our jw relatives.
answer - no, god can't be wrong or make a mistake.
And that should be a clue as to how this universal sovereignty is not an issue/question.
If the jw understanding that universal soveriegnty is answered by leaving humans to do everything on their own... then how do they explain the gifts of God? Or the prophets? Or miracles? Or Christ, Himself? Are all of these things not interference?

i've been developing this thought in my head for a few weeks.

answer - no, god can't be wrong or make a mistake.
Well, I'm not sure that the answers to questions 2 and 3 are accurate, and the answer to question 4 depends upon those answers to 2 and 3, right?
Someone would have to refresh my memory, but isn't the jw universal sovereignty question based on proving to humans who think that they can rule better than God, that they cannot? Because if that is the case, then according to that, it is then man who would be thinking that God could be wrong. So that in the resurrection and thousand years, it has been settled and people can 'get with the program'?
I could well misunderstand the jw theology. Has been a while.

according to the jw doctrine, can armageddon happen any day now?
is it possible that it could happen tomorrow?.
will it last minutes, hours, days?
And since, like all battles, there will be casualties on both sides, it’s not improper to ask when all these things will be? Or when will this great battle take place?
This is inaccurate. There are not casualties on both sides in the great war of God... "at" ... Armageddon. When 'gog and magog' come against the city God loves (made up of the PEOPLE God loves), after the thousand years, fire from heaven devours them. The ones inside the city are not harmed. There are NO casualties among them.
This battles is also described as the great DAY .
(I believe the wts confuses the great tribulation with armageddon... which unfortunately makes everyone who survives their original armageddon, still subject to this second armageddon, at the end of the thousand years. But there is NO second test; and that is one of the MOST exhausting doctrines, as you cannot just keep up the 'good fight' for one lifetime, but an additional ten (generous) lifetimes... or its death for you anyway; talk about loading people up with burdens)
Peace to you,

i was angry with my kid for questioning me.
i work, i pay the bills, i provide food, clothing and shelter for them.
instead of respect, i get attitude.
Are you really talking about something that happened with you and your child... or is this an analogy for something else?
Peace,

i enjoy the odd thread about evoloution vs creation, etc but lately it seems that a large percentage of threads here devolve into fighting between atheists and theists and distract from what most of us here see eye to eye on, the wt and related things.
i wish things could be more civil here and fr people to realize that people will never see eye to eye on the topic.
it gets so tiring to see the contstant bickring and fighting on those threads.. they seem to go on page after page but very little of substance is discussed seeing as the existence or non existence of a god can be proven by anyone.
Oh please, Band. Were you equally dismayed to have recieved invitations to other forums that you took part in? ( I won't list them) Or are you just being hypocritical here?
Peace,
tammy
yeah i've had a lot to deal with lately.
i also lost my auntie this summer, and today was when all the will got finalised.
it brought back my loss.. i wonder what the future hold's deep down i know she is gone.
If you cannot put hope in more than this life right now, because I can understand how you might not be ready to even begin to think about such things yet, then perhaps concentrate on what you had with them when they were alive. Share some of them with us if you like. That helps sometimes too.
peace,
tammy
