If your mother does not know then men, they are more than likely from the HLC (hospital liaison committee). When a patient is admitted if they state they are a JW the HLC checks the list of patients who are JWs and visits them.

JW MIL having surgery - Elders there are the "blood nazis"
by Robert7 inso my jw mother-in-law is having some rather major abdominal surgery today.
given the type of surgery, there is a chance that the blood issue may come up, where in worst case if there's a loss of blood she may need a transfusion.. so in the waiting room for the entire 3 1/2 hour surgery are two elders.
these guys don't know my mil that well, and they are not there to support her... when it comes down to it:.

Why I Like the "Proclaimers" Book
by t33ap80c inwhile it is true that the "proclaimers" book is not always as open and honest about the society's history as it claims to be, it is open and honest enough to bring into question the society claim to being god's organization.
it's a matter of (1) knowing what to look for, (2) where to find it and then, (3) to be able get the sense of what it means.. take for example the extremely important matter of the second coming of christ.... on the top of page 47 the book truthfully explains how president charles russell came to believe that jesus returned invisibly in 1874 to begin his second coming ("invisible presence").
and then a careful reading of the footnote on page 133 shows that the date of jesus' return was not changed to 1914 until 1943.. it is likely that even if some witnesses notice that fact, they do not get the sense of what it means.

I would record her yelling and screaming. Then you can show the elders IF she decides to bring you before a committee, she cannot lie what is videoed. Then they can see why you left her.

I'm not sure how long I can stay married to the Witnesses

i have fonund the information to be helpful and encouraging.. however, i'm not sure how much longer i can take being married to the jw's.. i have a wonderful husband, but he believes everything this cult tells him.
most recently he has decided that because the end is near we don't have to worry about our bills.

1 Timothy 5:8 makes clear that a man must provide for his household if he is physically able to do so. I don't see how this man can get away with a clear violation of that. Paying one's debts is also a Christian responsibility. This doesn't really make sense.
Thanks for the point, I was going to refer to 1 Tim. Your husband is SUPPOSED to provide for his household. It appears he is not disable but lazy. He is not qualified to serve.

Flying to Orlando tomorrow, my daughter is in the hospital
by coffee_black inmy daughter is in the hospital with pneumonia, and possibly a blood clot in her lung.
they'll be testing through the night...apparently, her heart is enlarged as well.
she is scared... and if her jw father catches wind of it, he will be there trying to intefere with her treatment... he lives close by to her, so i'll be flying down in the morning....to head him off at the pass.

I was good friends for many years with the Circuit and District overseer John Crispin and his wife Mella. I'm fairly certain they are still in the WTS.
John and Mella are still in the org. In fact, he is in RI/MA at the moment. John is heading to Brooklyn next weekend for 6 weeks to conduct/facilitate the elder's school. Since he is not in the circuit work they have him travel primarily the northeast to conduct the elder's school every 4-6 weeks.

I also remember John Crispin was the DO for a while. I believe he was from California.
John Crispin is in RI/MA area right now. He is heading to Brooklyn this weekend to help with the Elder's School for around 6 weeks. The WTS has had him and Mella (his wife) traveling primarily the northeast for 4-6 weeks at a time while he facilitated the Elder's school.

Most insurance agents (at least here in Massachusetts) represent multiple insurance companies. That way they an shop for th best rate. Try calling/emailing a few agents and see if they represent more than one company for a quote.
My insurance continually climbs and my agent said it primarily was because the costs continue to rise if you needed to replace your home.

The education talk was unenlightening. There are 10 questions that elders were asked to write down to review an appointed man's qualifications. If your kid goes to college there is a likelihood that you will be removed.
They will be opening up Pandora's box. As it is the WTS is in serious need of elders and servants due to the fact most young men are not reaching out (they are smart if you ask me). Now do a 180 on higher education and possibly remove brothers? Funny I have not heard this yet from my husband, he know I would have something to say about them changing their minds yet again!
