Hi middleman, this is much easier to read, thanks.
Sorry for not saying so before, I lost track of this thread.
many of you are already familiar with the watchtower's 10 year association with the un.
there's also a good amount of us that are familiar with the "flagship" rebuttal site of this association---> http://www.jehovahsjudgment.co.uk/watchtower-un-ngo/.
time and time again i have been referred to this website when talking to jw's about this issue.

i went to the sunday circuit assembly and came back all riled up with all the nonsense.. the sunday program was on ''safeguarding your spirituality''.
''it is better to remain single and not marry.
that gives you more time for studying and the preaching work.
I concur with you blondie, I was in my last year of high school & left to pioneer in September '69.
What an idiot I was to believe them & to hear they are still churning out this stuff.................................well words fail me
Hoab
today i was remembering how angry i used to get at the meetings and all the little irritations that in the end would just make my blood boil these included:.
prayers that go on foreverstudy or wt conductors still taking comments when its clear that the point has been covered 20 times alreadymeetings over running by more than 5 minsmy favourite was this one elder who would play guess the point i am thinking of.
he would keep rephrasing the question from the wt until someone would bring up the point he was thinking of.
The W/T study conductor spending half the alloted time of the whole study wringing every last drop from the first three paragraphs, then telling the cong' to keep their answers short & scrabbling through the middle & concluding part of the article.
But what do I care now, I don't go
o.k i have noticed that most female jws are ugly.and by ugly i mean ugly.they won't work out, they are fat and won't go on a diet (some female teens won't even shave their legs),they neglect their appearance/body in general.any opinions?.
.
p.s many will eventually get fat after marriage.
I'm not drop dead gorgeous.......... sort of an Anthony Edwards type.
You really can't say ALL JW females are this or that cos' they just aint'.
Go to any UK assembly & there are pretty girls strutting their stuff in dresses that do not leave much to the imagination.
Life's just a bitch when the appearance of a person stops you getting to know the person behind the squashed face.
had some fun recently talking to an elder i know and he mentioned about the elders school he would be going to in december.
you should have seen his face when i said i bet he was looking forward to the new elders manual that he would be getting...
Decided, can you elaborate on Knorr's attitude that didn't appeal to you?
In the UK I only remember as a young child the hushed tone of the audience when he delivered a talk at one of the large assemblies...............I recall this was the highlight of the assembly & like it was Jehovah talking to us.
I often smiled when the mic rover, hands clasped in front of him standing at the side of the audience relaxing between paragraphs , didn't realise he looked for all the world like he was clutching his aroused member..........
spoke to my dad today who attended the beckenham (london/kent) congregation's memorial - he said that for the first time the attendance was seriously down - 203 as opposed to last year's 250 and that penge (congregation that shares the hall) had a similar experience.
it's called the internet dad.. can we have a roll call of numbers from those that attended please?
(or if it's been covered already, a link?).
bttt
Yep me too.
Mic' running kept the boredom level bearable.
I hated the things really..............one sure way to pass a cold around the cong',
One verbose sister (in fact i thought she should have her own mic'!) would sneeze into her hand & then run the heel of her palm along her nostrils to the tip of her nose & then grab the mic'..............Eeeeeeeyewwwww
Oh & then hand it back

You know what I found so annoying?
When the emblems were passed around instead of keeping silent the speaker felt the need to fill the silence with some inane babble about what the bread was made from & how the wine.....................oh I cant even remember what he said about the wine.
Really took the solemnity of the occasion away.

That's 50 in total in attendance.
As you can see we are a small congregation.
We have had just over a 100 in attendance in the past but will probably never see that again.
