You've come to the right place for advice. Just about all of us can understand what you are going through. Unfortunatly there is no easy answer becasue we all have different situations and handle things in a different way. The Org is not going to go easy on you whether you mail the letter or not. We all no what happenes when we leave. But if you stay and fake it or just try to be "inactive" they wont leave you alone with the guilt trips and emotional terrorism they are so good at. I feel bad for all those that go through what you are dealing with. Your right, you dont owe the elders any explanation for anything, this is your life, its none of their business. But it is your families business and it does affect them. The problem with JW's is they are all brainwashed and they wont even try to understand what you are dealing with, how you feel or even how hard this is for you. This is a good place for support, use it to the fullest, we are all here for you.

1874
by PYRAMIDSCHEME indoes anyone know the last mention of 1874 in the orgs publications?
i am trying to pinpoint in their own literature when this was changed to 1914. i know the 1914 doctrine came into its "current understanding" around 1941, right?.

Misunderstood relativistic fears
by Dogpatch inmore than 10,000 people have died in the japanese tsunami and the survivors are cold and hungry.
but the media concentrate on nuclear radiation from which no-one has died - and is unlikely to.. modern reactors are better designed than those at fukushima - tomorrow's may be better stillnuclear radiation at very high levels is dangerous, but the scale of concern that it evokes is misplaced.
nuclear technology cures countless cancer patients every day - and a radiation dose given for radiotherapy in hospital is no different in principle to a similar dose received in the environment.. what of three mile island?

Wally, Wikipedia is not a good source for info. And of course Greenpeace is going to put the numbers high, it fits their agenda, same as the pro nuclear crowd are going to put the numbers low, it fits their aganda.

Are you Victor Meldrew ?
by wobble inthis thread is apropos nothing in particular, except to ask, does modern life get you down too ?.
for those not familiar with mr meldrew, he is from a british sit-com and is a senior citizen who gripes and complains a lot .
there is a lot more to the sit-com than that, it is quite brilliant, but that is the pertinent point.. i went on national rail's site on thursday night to ask two simple questions, what time is the first train to london from my local station around 9am, and how much were they going to sting me for a ticket.. the site was worse than useless, no way could you get an answer to simple questions like that.. at one point it asked me if i would like to take part in a customer survey, so i did, i raved and ranted and insulted all through this survey, then it asked me my gender, then my age, at this point i paused before clicking "next", i could just see in my mind the next question:.

i don't believe that all gb members believe all the shit found in their publications but if they could get their hands on some money couldn't they just disappear?
since ray franz has died i can't email him this sort of question.

Do the governing body play God?
by TimothyT inim reading ray franz's book crisis of conscience!
it is brilliant!
he brings out some amazing points as to the credibility of the governing body!

Ray mentions later in the book about followers of followers and victims of victims. And in reality thats all they are. Like the other 7million JW's around the world they honestly believe what they teach. Why? Because it's what they were taught. Like us, they were taught not to question, so they dont, not many do. Some wake up, most dont.
