I am planning on partaking of the emblems this year. I personally believe that will ultimately prove to be a better witness than any other action I could take.

39LAST NIGHT..!
by iknowall558 ini finally went out on a 'ministry' work.
with a bit of help, i took all of my anti witness leaflets and put them through the doors of as many witnesses as i could in a 2hour time period.
it was the easiest and most exhilirating thing i've ever done.

Your sentiments very closely reflect my own. Though I think I'll always be a believer in Christ (whatever you imagine Christ to be). And keep in mind, friend... most of the dubs really DON'T know any better. And most of them are better off that way. :)

that first scene, with the searingly tense, sinister, faux-friendly visit and "conversation" over the glass of milk... the loaded-gun smile, and ominous bookbag... something about his manner made think of some just horrific shepherding call.. (and no, i am not literally equating cos/elders with nazis... i am just saying the tone was reminisent, to me, of such meetings.).

The elders are big on "Well, YOU made a commitment to Jehovah". Unfortunately, many of us now realize too late that what we REALLY made a commitment to was The Organization. Many JWs really have no idea what they are getting themselves into, and that's exactly how the WT wants it. When we were studying the Bible with them, we thought to ourselves, "But these people are so nice, what the 'apostates' say MUST all be lies!" without critically examining their claims. And, of course, we bought into the everything-is-from-Satan superstition too...

In my opinion, the diehard JWs have that "one thing" about "the truth" that they just cannot let go of, i.e. JWs are the "only religion" that 1) teaches Paradise, 2) is doing the "preaching work", 3) doesn't teach the Trinity, etc.
I think to myself, Jeez, why can't you just take those things that are important to you and just believe that? Why do you need a religion with a bunch of other crap?

but i suppose when any religion owns it's deity (s) they can pretty much dress him any way they want.. religions are changing jesus from the kind peace-lover who advised his followers to "do good to those who spitefully use you" and "love one another, even your enemies.".
now, jesus is fed up and he's coming back as a killer.. .

Who hasn't in a fit of passion said something they regretted, then later apologized, revealing their true, loving nature?
I think if Jesus was the total peace-love-pass-the-doobie-man hippie many have made him out to be, he might be much less interesting.

I'm sure every man on the GB already knows everything. The kind of men the WT needs to perpetuate its madness are men who know everything and STILL believe it's "Jehovah's Organization", facts be damned. I know JWs like this (not many though). This is what Cameron (?) was talking about when he referred to "captives of a concept".
"But Jehovah MUST have an Organization!"... you know the type.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses a Christian denomination? The Feb. Watchtower seems to say so

the february 1st wt says on page 22:.
"a high-school textbook, world religions in denmark, published in 2007, described jehovah's witnesses as a christian minority who follow the bible closely.

It's BECAUSE I respect JWs that I deplore the stupidity and evil of their self-appointed taskmasters. These are decent folks who deserve better treatment. The reason many people don't respect the Witnesses is because the leadership of the organization shows little respect for other faiths, especially when they go to such lengths to insult people's intelligence.
