did you ever have anyone, at the door, say something to you that created a seed of doubt in your mind about the wts?

something at all that started you thinking "maybe i'm really not in the truth".

Yes, there are two instances that made me stop and think:

One person who always opened the door would talk for a while but refused the magazines. He'd say "I won't read that pro-pa-ganda!" He said it so convincingly that I really started thinking: Maybe he's right. What if this stuff really is propaganda?

Another lady -- when she heard (during Christmas) that "we" didn't celebrate holidays said in with a distraught look in her face almost in tears:

"Children have to have Christmas! They just have to!"

That got me thinking about the big deal of objecting to Holidays. It's funny now that I think about it.

I heard a case where a woman who had become an inactive JW was divorcing a JW man.

There was no question as to who would have custody of the children because he had been threatening the children with "Armageddon Doom" for wanting to celebrate Christmas, Mother's Day, Etc. during the years leading up to the divorce.

So after the mom filed for divorce she simply told the die-hard JDub : "You use your religion to mentally abuse our children, so they won't be living with you. If you pull any stunts, the real truth will come out in court." The guy backed away and never mentioned the custody issue again. With a window-washer salary he couldn't afford to legally fight for custody anyway.

I went to the Memorial.

i'm just going to start at the beginning.. i was anticipating the memorial all day.

i was nervous but excited, kind of like standing in line for a roller coaster.. ok. so erika gets ready at her house, and i get ready at mine.

i'm wearing a black suit with a light green shirt, and a tie that had hues of green and yellow in it.

You handled yourself well, Richie. Crumpet gave a good summary about the Watchtower religion most of us have left and why:

that tacitly approves the molesting of small children,
that openly advocates death rather than medical treatment that involves blood,
that twists scripture indecently to its own manipulative ends,
that is so fearful the flock will get an inkling of how wrong they are that they restrict use of research through the internet

that literally tears families apart
causes countless suicides from those who have been tested beyond what they can bear by their so called brothers

How different are you from 10 years ago?

today, i don't fear the elders as much, and i think that they fear me more.. how about you, how has 10 years made you better or stronger?.

I was in the Borg ten years ago, so there is a definite improvement right there!

Now, I feel more free to think and choose what I want to do. I enjoy every day more because I'm not waiting for some elusive "paradise."

Does looks matter much to you?

what importance do you place in the looks of a friend, or lover?.

does the interior stand out more than the exterior shell which is skin deep?.

A person's values and character traits are far more important than her/his looks.

People can't help the way they look very much other than being neat and clean. I do tend to be allergic to strong perfumes, so as far as what a friend might "wear" I'd be uncomfortable with such things like after- shave smelly stuff or the like.

had a beautiful redhead today needed some work on her car.

i took her home while we repaird he car and my god she was wanting to get together with me and i am not that good looking i am 55 salt and pepper hair, gay, but not a troll.

i can't let my customers know my situation but it is flattering so just wanted to let you know it makes me feel good about myself.. .

I wonder if hormones are also responsible for guys who are in their forties and do outlandish things to reassure themselves they are still desireable to younger females? What's the word for that?? Oh yeah, mid-life crisis.

Simple life, which is better?

Oh, never mind. It's this one: ".... neither fornicators, nor adulterers nor people who are too tired of peddling literature for a hypocritical publishing company will inherit the kingdom..." Yeah, that scripture.
