What a happy day for you! I second the other job idea. Get your networking skills going and maybe you can be competition for the boss in a few years time.

It's a wedding so diverting attention to the "happy couple" would be good.
Ask lots of questions, try to see if you can find the next fader in the room. Ask about the missing friends and get the gossip. In general let them know if you are involved in a hobby you like or what issues intrest you lately. Like Jgnat said keep moving.

Blood and the WTBS
by yknot intoday i got into a discussion with our congregations biggest blood ban defenders, while sitting at the doctors office.
after lecturing me on not having a blood key chain, i mentioned about the flash of blood that happens when inserting an iv, that the blood was "transfused" back into the person.
she didn't believe me at first but the nurse confirmed the drops of blood.. this really upset her since she has been in the hospital quite a bit since aging.

I never knew the "official word" was this... I wonder if the elders do?

What about the "public" WT?
by yknot inany opinions?.
do you expect it to change, to become more like the awake with one small bible-ish commentary!.
what is the point of a public watchtower anyways?

So it is 6 years later, does it seem that combining the two will happen??? Mind you I have only seen a pair of these leaflets once this year...at my JW sister's house.

Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses is a Negative, Depressing Thing To Do, but....
by AllTimeJeff inover the years since i left jehovahs witnesses, one of the more fascinating things to observe, and really to me, the most important, is what to do after you leave.. to be sure, no one leaves because of a positive experience.
and therein lies the issues with leaving.
basically, people leave in three general ways: 1. they, like myself, resign or leave due to a disagreement.

Who is the Faithful and Discrete Slave?
by Etude inrecently, i've had memories about that topic, which i had suppressed for a long time.
my original question came up when i encountered a few members of the "anointed" in my congregation (we're talking almost 30 years ago).. there was one sister who partook of the "emblems" who had come from cuba.
i learned from her that her health was frail because she had smuggled some expensive jewelry in a condom and stuck it up her colon.
