Yes, I have seen this too! It's amazing how quickly they can distance themselves even when minor doubts are voiced. I'm trying to use it as a valuable life lesson; it eases the pain somewhat.

How Much are Your Conditional Friends Worth?
by leavingwt inupon learning that wt was not "god's organization", i was devastated.
for two decades i had spent valuable time building friendships, mostly with jws.
during my stay at bethel, i made many fine friends, some of them very close.

Welcome! Thanks for sharing, and I hope that you continue to do so. If you're afraid of being 'outed', just give as much or as little information as you are comfortable with. Also, the members-only sections are not subject to outside search engines, as far as I know.

With Heavy Heart
by PSacramento insometimes we find a place and it feels like home, it is accepting and understanding.. then, sometimes, that place becomes cold and inhospitible.. when i first joined here i felt i have found a good place.. people like narkissos, leolaia and others impressed me with their knowledge of scripture and motivated me to learn more for myself.. others touched me with the stories of their pan and hurt, pain and hurt that i was feeling also.. i don't think i ever offended anyone with my views on christianity and if i have i sincerly apologise for that was not my intent.. but things change and sometimes home isn't home anymore.... this site had been invalable to me for my understanding what is wrong with the jw's relgion and the wt, it has strengthened my faith and belief.. here i found people of religon, faith and love.. here i found agnostics and athiest that challenged my views and made me question, they made me a believe via reason and not "blind faith".. for that, i thank all of you, especially the "jeff's" ( ak and alltime), i also say a special thanks to leavingthewt, many of his posts made me feel welcomed and made me think and be a better person.. chalam, bts, dd and so many others, i thank you from my heart for your kind words over these many months.. people like mary and sylvia and so many others filled my heart with love with their stories.. all the best to you my dear brothers and sisters.. .

Welcome, Peaches! I'm sorry to hear that everything has been lost, including a child...
Personally, I did a quick fade. Fewer and fewer meetings over a couple of months, then cold turkey. The cold turkey happened once I was absolutely sure it wasn't The Truth.

My Wife's SSD Got Cut Off
by Yizuman inthis morning, i came to discover in great shock that my wife's ssd has been stopped.. yesterday, i noticed her ssd wasn't automatically deposited as it usually does every 3rd of the month.. .
this morning i checked again and it still wasn't there.

Please explain the point of being Good?
by Brocephus ini never understood the point of being good and righteous if the only punishment for not doing so was "nothing" i would die and nothing would happen.
just nothing, no hell, no pain, no regret... just nothing.. on the other hand if i am good.... i have to deal with the jw's and their rules and boring meetings forever!!!
no worldly girls to sneak around with on saturday night.. no keg parties to sneak off too on friday?....

The threat of nothingness is in some ways more scary than the threat of eternal punishment. Who wants to die forever? Who wants to not ever be alive again? The promise of living forever appeals to a base, instinctual drive for survival.

I know what you mean, 5thGeneration. While I am still relatively young, I am watching my parents as they age and look with increasing desperation towards Armageddon. It is so sad.

Difference between "raised in the truth" and "converts" that are now X-JWs.
by Brocephus ini am noticing a difference..... "raised in's" seem to be a little more relaxed and better suited for their world after the kh.
"converts" seem to be a little disoriented.
maybe b/c they saw the truth as away out of this crazy world only to be massive dissapointed.

Maybe some of us are able to mask our inner turmoil with more success...
Not to sidetrack the discussion. I would like to see some converts' comments as well.
