Nice comments, all. I've had the same thing thrown at me and it is frustrating that people will think that way. But for them the alternative is admitting that maybe your happiness is real and valid. Their minds aren't allowed to go there.

this above phrase was recently said to me by a dub, when i told them that i didn't attend any more and that i felt much better for it.

Looking back on this now I feel like I was once a member of a Flat Earth Society bound and determined to "prove" the planet Earth is not a lumpy spheroid at all, just flat!
Nice analogy, Terry! I look back on my attempts to reconcile the huge gulfs between my untenable stance on things and EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE available, and I'm blown away. Also a little red-faced.

2 statements from the platform:
First, a not-so-funny one: During a public talk, the speaker said something like, "Now this next part deals with lots of numbers and such, so it might go right over you sisters' heads."
Now, a funny on: One guy was giving the bible highlights in the chapters dealing with Samson. He was telling the account of Samson killing a bunch of Philistines with a cattle goad (prod). He somehow got it confused with a bottle gourd plant, because he wrote his talk around the amazing help of Jah's holy spirit - to kill so many Philistines with a VEGETABLE!

JAPAN Bethel downsizes with layoffs!
by Alligator Wisdom intwenty+ year veteran japanese bethelites sent to the field as special pioneers.
i don't have the exact number laid off.
however, there are a total of 550+ members at the ebina branch, so if the trend reflects the same as in the u.s. and europe branches, then we can assume at least between 10% - 20%.. in order to counterbalance the need for a work force but without having to incur expenses by housing and feeding them, japan bethel is considering opening the door to "commuting bethelites".
