this is my first time participating in a site like this , so please.

forgive me if my approach is clumsy.. my story is not extraordinary and hardly interesting, so thanks.

Congratulations on giving yourself permission to search. Sometimes it takes an event such as the birth of a child, or some other event or situation - good or bad - to start us down this path. Rest assured that you have nothing to prove here, no 'badge of shame' for still being in an appointed position.

When I began my exit, I was serving as an M.S., and while nobody here judged me for continuing in that capacity for a while, my own hypocrisy was too much for me to take for long. I don't have a poker face. Many others here have served as Servants, Elders, Gilead grads, etc. Everyone has their own choices to make, their own trail to blaze.

I know that a few elders here have used the Family Worship Night to help their families out - that may be something for you to look into, at some point. What's important for you right now is to start forming an exit strategy, and continue to seek support. Do things at your own pace. No need to rush. Know that you're not alone, and that by having woken up to the truth about the truth, you have already come a long way.

the dog has been rushed to the emergency vets!

i am really worried... she had started to improve and now has become seriously ill... took her to the vets yesterday and they think her stomach is ulcerated... gave her injections and medicine to take at home... today she is even worse, she hasn't eaten for 4 days... when she does eat she vomits it back up... she is also drinking vast amounts of water.... i phoned the vets and they wanted her in immediately... it's after ten pm, so they must think she is urgent.

carrot has taken her and i'm waiting by the phone for news.... just want her well... this is awful!

Wouldn't the predators on the ark have eaten everything by the time the 40 days was over?

let say noah did manage to get all the species into the ark... about half of them would have been predators and the other half natural prey.. are we going to belive that they went without eating for 40 days and nights?

or the ridiculous theory as the wt would have it that noah fed them nice tasty bales of straw which they happily munched on?.

and even if one of these two exhuses were true, when the animals were let out of the ark into a world now deverstated by a flood, then wouldn't they have continued eating eachother???

How do you feel about not seeing your dead loved ones again?

it always felt rather unatural the thought of seeing people who had been dead for years.

how would they come to terms with the huge passage of time that had passed?

how would they be able to cope with the fact that their family had probably hugely changed since they had died.

I am guilty of not putting in enough effort to spend time with some of my aging and sick loved ones before they died. I thought that I would simply catch up with them in the new system.

I regret this deeply.

I won't make the same mistake again.

Maybe he took it personally. I did, sometimes, depending on how the person reacted to my presentation. Then I would reassure myself of the fact that I was right and they were wrong and someday, someday...they'd find out the hard way.

Please provide an original manuscript proving that Jesus said this. I'll give you a hint: there aren't any. As Terry pointed out, our 'faith' rests on hearsay.

The bible has been preserved by people...as history bears out. Very brave people, some of whom died in order to preserve it.

Can you do more research?

The answers are there, if you are willing to put in the time and effort. Are you? I don't mean to sound dismissive, but I wonder how sincere you are in searching for answers. Suggesting that Terry do more research for you is just a wee bit tacky, don't you think? Unless you're just asking rhetorical questions in order to prove some point...
