i mean, look at the inspiring example we have in churchianity: such wonderful dogma- such as the three sadist-gods who have been torturing billions of men, women, and children for thousands of years- with eternity to go...and god making the universe in 72 hours...and backing the wars of their governments- "god and country!
", as they send their men out to war, telling them they will be blessed for it, and so many more wonderful revelations: the rapture, once-saved, tithing, etc.

last week in the new york times there was an interview of deepak chopra.....he made an interesting observation.
he stated that in the beginning god gave man truth....and then the devil came along and said let's organize it and call it religion.
organized religion simply panders to weak-willed people who dare not use their own minds to come to logical decisions. there is always an elite class and then the peons. with the witnesses, the peons give give give and are kept in silent submission by fear tactics perpetually drummed into their ears. it is a very sad situation....
at least with mainstream religions, people can go and get all warm and fuzzy feeling once a week, then walk away and forget it all. with witnesses you have to be at it 24/7.....

those whose heads are reverently bowed and eyelids shut will not notice who is groping who or what during prayers.
on another note, i had the inestimable priviledge of viewing the october kingdumb ministry...in which there is a most enlightening article written apparently with sensitivity to the minimal IQ factors....in which they define various "parts" of the service meeting. First, there is a "talk". This is what a speaker does standing on the platform and the audience just listens. A "question and answer" part involves certain questions being posed to the audience. The audience may respond when called upon and parrot back whatever the "answer" is. Seriously....are they all brain dead???? How can they stand the stupidity???

I was very bitter while I was still "in"....I really didn't realize that I was dealing with some really heavy duty cognitive dissonance. I was bitter at having lost a good 20 years of my life, not getting an education, married, having kids, etc.... Once I drifted away from the constant barrage of nonsense, I gradually overcame the bitterness and turned (with the help of a very smart husband) myself around. I am making up for those lost years, getting my degree, living my life to the fullest and loving every minute of it.
You just have to learn to distance yourself from the toxic. Blondie said it well...and given her situation with the nasty dad and sick mother, she knows what the score is. At first it is hard, but work on the positive. The religion programs you to negativity and misery, and you have to really wrap your mind around seeing things from a happy positive viewpoint. Keep at it....it'lll all work out.

It's all calculated to leave the woman feeling as a lesser being. And the thing that enrages me the most is all these poor women who have lived in abusive marriages and continued to do so...and it is still going on. The abuse victim loses all self-esteem, in fact most women who end up in abusive situations already have that problem and the abuses only make it worse. Given a religion that endeavors to kill any spark of imagination, feelings of self-worth, attainment to a better life through education and caring for humanity, it is no surprise that so many JW women are beaten up and miserable.
Then they come along with this and reinforce the misery. You have to stay with the monster for the sake of the children??? What child is in an healthier environment where his/her mother is being beaten up bodily, verbally, mentally??? All that is doing is creating a sick role model for the child so when they grow up they will act out on their mate just the same way...or the little girls will think that it is "normal" to be victimized.
I remember one kid who was about probably early high school, and his mother was the typical mouse and the father an over-bearing arse...he actually made the comment that he couldn't wait to grow up and get married to have someone to boss around. That's the mentality.....sad to say.

Pre-flood....pre-Adam & Eve.....thousands, millions years ago....the geography/topography of this planet was QUITE different. Species are continually becoming extinct.... 100 years from now, the polar bears and siberian tigers will likely be gone.
Kangaroos hopping out of the ark, though....that is a very funny thought. Why is it all the representations of Noah and the ark contain only animals Americans and Europeans seem to be familiar with........
