Please Post Reasons For Not Believing The Witnesses Have The "Truth" Anymore
by minimus ini see a few want to believe in the watchtower's view of bible prophecy, scriptural understandings and the view that the "anointed remnant" dispense the "spiritual food at the proper time".. how would you refute those views?.

recent epiphany 14....my wifes door to door disclaimer...
by oompa inso recently i realized again via nutjob cults in the news that when you predict the end of world and fail...some people notice...and you have to cover your ass and say something happened invisibly right?...sounds familar i know.... so i tell wife to from now on knock on doors and say "hi, im one of jehovahs witnesses and even though we predicted for one hundred and forty consecutive years that the world would end in the twentieth century...i would still like you to accept my free home bible study".
of course i cant even get her to look inside an awake cover from before 1995 where indeed it says this....and prior to 19oo russell preached the end would occur in 1914 starting in 1874 i believe and that jesus had already come invisibly of course.
and then i realizied that the scripture is so simple it does not need interpretation...."nobody can know the day nor hour...not even the son" or something like that...so isnt it ironic that the entire basis for this religion as founded by russell was for that exact same reason!!!

Climate change and the WBTS.
by african GB Member inat this year's dc we heard the org's analysis on climate change and the deteriorating ozone layer.
we were told that jehovah will destroy those who destroy the earth, including those who chop down trees that are supposed to give oxygen in exchange for our carbon dioxide.. surely such a big corporation should have done a thourough research and found that they are also culprits.
they print millions, if not billions, of literature each year.

Literacy and eternal salvation
by dgp inchristianity began (or so goes the claim) as a group of mostly illiterate and poor fishermen.
most people were illiterate at the time.
so, the god of that religion, then, did not require that you be literate in order to be saved.

This Weeks Watchtower Study
by Lets Think inso paragraph 5 of todays watchtower says: people with faith see clearly the difference between the baseless claims of men and the sacred promises of jehovah god.
then i thought of every pre 1995 awake inside cover page in the box where it say why the awake is published; where it says:.
most important, this magazine builds confidence in the creators promise of a peaceful and secure new world before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away.. .

School for Congregation Elders
by C.O.B.E.Beef ini attended the school late last year, and it was an emotional and mental rollercoaster for me.
i was already divided in my heart to say the least.
one of the instructors stayed in my home for the week, and my family genuinely enjoyed his company.

Do they still play the piano during songs at the KH?
by andys ini was just now thinking of this do they still play the piano at the kh or is that part out of there all together also, i have been learning that when you look at a word in the bible many words translated over to hebrew have a deeper meaning for example the word praise a person can just glance at the word and think praise, but there are many hebrew meanings behind the word praise and one of the meanings:.
zamar-to touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument i.e.
play upon it, to make music accompanied by the voice, to celebrate in song and music, give praise, sing forth praises, psalms.

nope....because the player was "seen by men" or some such ridiculous thing.....everything has to be canned and from brooklyn or patterson these days. people might look with admiration at someone playing who was really talented, and that could be idolatry you realize....
or if there were more than one capable person there could be rivalry as to who would play....then if you had a really lousy pianist who happened to be married to the PO, and you had a concert pianist married to a nobody or worse yet, single....well, you know who'd get to play...........

New Light @ The 2011 District Convention
by dontplaceliterature in" at the bottom of the image on the back of the invitation raises some eyebrows, but last night in the routine district convention article during the service meeting, i caught that one of the paragraphs mentioned that we would be encouraged to keep a copy of the tract in hand for a discussion during sunday's last talk.
my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?
" represents, or some other fangled idea.
