i have the elders coming to my home soon and need help finding a watchtower where thay stated that the regular publishers were also prophets, i think it came out about 2007 i think but not sure..

This “good news” is primarily the message that salvation or everlasting life is possible on the basis of genuine faith in the atoning benefits of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, and that God’s kingdom by Christ will bring all things on earth into perfect unity with the holy heavens. (Acts 4:12; Rom. 1:16; Eph. 1:7-14) Why does that message have a powerful effect on those accepting it?

Consider the situation of many individuals when the “good news” reaches them. Before hearing this message, a person may sense a certain emptiness in his life. On account of personal problems and because of witnessing injustices and oppression, he may have cried out inside himself for relief from distress. The individual may be disappointed because of his own inability to be the kind of person he would like to be. Then, when the “good news” is presented to him, he learns the basic reason for his distress, namely, that he, along with all other members of the human family, is a sinner. Therefore, no matter how sincere a person may be, he will not succeed in living his life in such a way that he does not disappoint himself and others. He can never prove himself righteous before God by adhering to a particular code of law. The “good news,” however, makes it clear how he can enjoy a clean conscience before God and men, with everlasting life in view.

Advise needed please

dear forumites, i need your advise please.. i would like to write a letter to the world headquarters of the jehovah's witnesses regarding a subject that i've published an article recently.

i would like to draw the attention of the gb to said article, which i will send in print form (therefore, no attention would be drawn to the website where it was published).. naturally, because i am a jehovah's witness in good standing in the congregation and what i'll be discussing in my letter will be a dissenting view from the official doctrine/practice, i want to protect my identity and i don't want to be harassed by elders or subjected to any sort of judicial investigation.

nevertheless, i would be very interested in reading their response (if any) to my letter.. how can i do that?

a bishop of the apostolic church (grandiose title, isn't it?

) in the cook islands, wants to ban local indians who are hindu's from celebrating their diwali festival.. he claims its blasphemy against the christian god, and that because the cooks islands is a christian country, no other form of worship should be permitted.. gotta love your average christian, don't you?

if they are banned or persecuted, they scream their heads off, but as soon as they control things they want to ban any alternative worship.. cooks bishop condemns diwali celebration as blasphemyupdated 15 november 2013, 14:52 aest.

what is the proof it should be there?.

i've brought up to jws that revelation says not to take anything out or you will get the second death.. but they are ok with it because they compare it to not using the book of thomas, mary, etc.. what would you say to that?.

Honest survey question on effectiveness of 'apostacy'

it seems like lots of people have big dreams of 'destroying the watchtower'.

it's usually linked to a story of how they were wronged and want some revenge.

do these 'in your face' attempts to convince people that the truth isn't the truth really have an effect?.

In my case it was personally experiencing the apostasy of the "elders" that woke me up to the fraud and impostor that the Watchtower organisation is.

BTW apostasy is not what religionists have persuaded dictionary editors.

Apostasy is not disagreeing with the "ruling religious clergy class" or defecting from their (anti-Kingdom) organisations.

Apostasy is "spiritual unfaithfulness" to the God of Abraham and his liberating message the "unabridged gospel".

There is nothing the "elders" or "ruling religious clergy class" secretly hate, fear and undermine more than the "unabridged gospel" (especially the gospel according to Paul).

i have learned to stay away from all religion and jehovahs wittness doctrine (that includes the watchtower and awake magazines).

stay away from positions of ministerial servant, pioneer, aux pioneer, elder, and the like.

once you become a full fledged jehovah wittness you are doomed to be unhappy.

Do you think Born Agains are tired of waiting for the "Rapture"?

my heart goes out to born agains that are still waiting for the rapture and jesus taking them to heaven.

they are no different then jws waiting for armaggeddon.

how much time must goes by before both groups say "enough is enough"?

As a spiritually awoken/regenerated (born-again) person I have never been very concerned with the rapture and am inclined to dismiss religious (physical/carnal/temporal) interpretations, expectations, speculations and occasional hysteria.

new guy here so i thought i would make a brief introduction.. my exposure to the jw's is indirect, as i have never been a member; however my wife of 22 years grew up in a jw household.

her dad is the grand-pooba or whatever level of "elder" you call it for his kh.

her mom, sister, brother, and their spouses all died in the wool witnesses.
