I admit, abject and utter failure.....
by notverylikely ini tried, i thought i could make it work, it seemed so easy, but alas, in my project to turn a used $3 cigar box into a functional humidor i failed miserably.
i never could make the box airtight enough and allow enough air to circulate through to keep the cigars moist enough with a passive humidifier.
the humidity kept falling too low, i kept have to try to seal more edges of the box and eventually i started losing cigars.. i broke down today and bought a $40 humidor and in the space of just a few hours it is already keeping the cigars more moist and humid.. i failed.

i shouldnt think that thanksgiving would be sanctioned. it is supposed to be 'giving thanks to god' ... and as the pilgrims and the indians didnt worship the big skydaddy jehoober, dont see this one being 'okay' with them

Ray Franz Was Wrong
by Farkel ingod rest his soul.
although i never met him personally, he and i did correspond a number of times, and i have numerous friends who have not only met him, but stayed several days with he and cynthia at their home.
if nothing else, ray was kind, non-judging, and generous.

JW's are not nice people
by Nickolas ini cut and pasted the subject line from a comment made by one of this board's longtime members.
it got me wondering if this is the prevalent thinking in here.
for a very long time i believed that jw's and all fundamentalist christian folk are a cut above the norm.

when i was trying to be a good little JW social climber ... i refused to treat other people in the way i deemed disrespectful and unfair, in particular the way several of those in the leadership roles were acting. i wouldnt do it. therefore, i never got promoted. i used to wonder all the time why i never was appointed. i'd always volunteer to do more, do more service, etc. but simply because i chose not to be petty and to not kiss the asses of the elders ... that's when i decided that they are not nice people.

Just look at how they changed these lyrics in the new song book
by WingCommander inthis is disgusting!!!
we've all heard that the new song book is really, really, really bad......but i didn't see many examples cited of just how they changed some of the wording.
oh sure, we all know by now how incredibly hard it is to sing along with the garbage they wrote, tempo, lack of beat, odd rythm, timing, etc, etc.

What made you start questioning: people or doctrine?
by In inlet us know what got you questioning wbts in the first place.
i've got a theory that it starts with people hurting us and only then does the "apostate" turn to looking at the beliefs.. anybody who started questioning beliefs first?.
