i guess all you can really do is be there for her, which it sounds like you are doing. be strong, for her and you. and never doubt that we care :)

My mother is really sick--vocal chord disorder

it's rarely fatal but it feels like she's dying whenever she has an attack.
the symptoms are very similar to heart attack and stroke-trouble breathing, pressure in the chest, numb lips and tongue.

truthfully, what does it matter? if you believe he is, great. if you dont, great. i'll answer your questions:
1. Do you believe in God? - dont know because i havent decided. does it really matter to you what anyone else believes?
2. Do you believe the bible is inspired by God? - dont know if there is a god to inspire it, so question is moot
3. Do you believe in a in-errant bible? - i suppose you mean 'error free'. see the answers to 1 and 2.
4. Do you believe Jesus is God or "a god"? - i know a guy named Jesus. he is from mexico. he thinks he is god .. in bed .. but his wife says otherwise. if there was a real person that walked around named Jesus who claimed/didn't claim to be a god or the god, it was a long, long time ago and has nothing to do with me. frankly, i don't really care. if you need to believe that jesus is god (or for that matter, that jesus is a god), well good on you - knock yourself out.
Here are some more advanced questions. - good, because those questions were lame and seemed somewhat condescending
A. What is "Armageddon"? - a really old-sounding word that self-righteous people like to talk about
B. Who will be "resurrected"? - i hope george carlin. he'd love to meet you and talk to you about your beliefs.
C. What is the "second death"? - it's preferable to reading single-minded drivel like this
D. What determines my part in the above? - i don't know what determines your part. don't really care. you are responsible for your own choices, as am i (and every other sentient being on the planet.) seems like there's a phrase for that ... oh yeah! free will!

Question about your spouse or ex
by bluecanary ini've noticed we have a few male posters here with wives who are still in the jws.
and i can think of one female poster (cognac) with a husband in the jws (although things are looking up for her).
of course we have a few spouses that came out together.. is it me, or does it seem like the women here are more likely to have divorced their jw husband--even before leaving--whereas the men are more likely to stay with their wives?

my still-jah-widiot ex-wife was very abusive - emotionally and physically. apparently it was okay with the elders for her slander, endless puerile tirades, destruction of my property, physical abuse of me - after all, it was my fault because i didn't study with her more ... or pray more ...
that went on for almost 8 years before i had enough and left.

This is easily is the supidest comment I ever read. As to the question from the original poster I would say the percentage of Witnesses who wait until marraige is much higher than non-Witnesses.
um ... what does 'supidest' mean? and marraige? a little bit ironic that someone calling someone else's comment 'stupid' mistypes and says the comment is 'supid'

Well worth the expense. oh and imagine that! there's actually a 'spell check' button right here on the forums! wow! whoever came up with spellcheck .. now that guy or girl was NOT supid. personally i hate supid people. supid people just suck. kind of reminds me of a particular supid cult that insists on its supid members remaining marraiged even when not compatible. now that's easily the supidest thing i ever read.
