It's cute when a Mormon insults the beliefs of JWs.
About as cute as when I heard a talk in the kingdom hall from a brother describing the mormon beliefs and why they were false.
for you ex-jehovahs witnesses...and even you current ones...have you ever contemplated your future existence in paradise earth, should you be fortunate enough to end up there?
during those raucous, fun moments at the kingdom hall when you were contemplating eternity and having the times of your lives...did you ever speculate about what life would be like?
for example, would you have to walk everywhere or would you be able to fly around like superman?

I'm sorry but I do not find Banana Man's and Crocoduck Boy's arguments compelling. They are totally dishonest when they try to reason with Atheists and they're attempt to prove God without resorting to the Bible fails because they eventually go to the Bible to try to prove Him. Discarding the Bible and using evidence gets you as far as Deism but to say which God actually created everything you have to resort to the Bible, Koran, or some other holy writ.
it just amazes me how born again christians and jws are fighting and mudslinging at each other all the while not looking at the real problem in front of them the bible.
the bible has been used for thousands of years to committ all sorts of horrible crimes against others.
i am so sick and tired of reading about jws did this and that and christians did this and that when both groups will refuse to explain all of the contradictions and outright discrepencies in the bible.
Yeah, I agree that all Bible groups should look at the bigger picture and stop all the fighting. However, I don't think you will find them coming to a concensus on doctrines. Born agains will never accept the WT view of Jesus or the Mormon views of God and witnesses will not accept the idea of a Trinity of Hellfire.
For example, I see ex witnesses come on this board and say, "The Watchtower got one thing right, God is not a Trinity!" They are just simply still under the influence of the WT even if they denounce them otherwise. An objective conclusion of that teaching, in my personal opinion, is that Bible verses can be plucked and interpreted to support both views and adhering to one over the other is just plain dogma.
atleast that is what a group of jw's discussed on my wifes facebook account.
this is not the first time it has happened but it really took off this morning.. one sister says, "i was watching family guy with kids and the dog took home a human to have sex with.
i was appauled!.
Hey religious nut jobs will be religious nut jobs.
Remember kids, don't watch Super Why because it uses magic. That's what our former babysitter said to my oldest daughter sometime back. Also be careful of Captain Planet because he is made of the same elements as Satan. Oh, and Santa is also Satan, just rearrange the letters. Let's not forget Sparlock, the warrior wizard, whose main squeeze is Smurfette because we all know watching the Smurfs is evil. To this day, my wife will not watch the smurfs because if this idiotic indocrination from childhood but the witnesses are not alone as I endured this crap too when I was an IFB.
That's why I called my mom one day and thanked her for not dragging me to church every Sunday morning when I was growing up. Praise Jah!
The Greek doesn't even say "born again" at John 3 it says "born from above". Born again is not found in the bible.
Interesting, Cofty, I did not know that. Now I am going to find myself wondering what that means.
If you really understand something you can explain it to your granny.
On this point I would have to agree but I also feel like even if you know something really well and feel you can explain it really well, the 'granny' you speak of may still not understand. I know this is true when I try to explain certain things about electricity or computers to certain people.
unstop, can you explain what it means then? Inquiring minds want to know.
Well, maybe this will help. Being born again means being born into the family of God, becoming one of the sons and daughters of God.
That's a very good question Cofty and I cannot honestly say that I know. I know when I did it it was a feeling, but feelings can be deceiving. That's how Mormons gauge who is willing to accept their beliefs, based on feelings.
