as a newbie here, only having discovered this site a few days ago, i wanted to share with you my early observations and impressions.. being out of touch with the witnesses the last 13 years, i didn't realize sites like this existed.. my thinking was all apostate sites were places of doctrinal discussions on the trinity, hellfire, etc... with bitter x-jw's ranting 24/7.

so i was never excited about allowing more controversy to my life nor visiting such sites.. this is different.. what i'm noticing is that most here seem to be well versed in witness doctrine, much more so than the visiting jw's.

perhaps there is a protection for the wts in keeping people ignorant?.

What Gives you Peace of Mind Now?

for those who have had years of panic induced by wt teachings and scare stories, how have you resolved having those feelings of impending doom?.

I'm with flipper, I have peace knowing that it's just simply not true. After I saw the elders for the shams they are, and the organization for the sham it is, all of the rest of it just fell apart. Just like in the movie, "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" should be the motto for the WTBTS. Also my faith, different brand than most on this site, but all the same it sustains me, grounds me, and gives me peace.

I see this attitude all the time by this generation. They think they are teflon coated and immortal, they think they are entitled to everything right now, and they aren't afraid to be confrontational and mean to get it. They are bullies. She's no different than what I see every day from neighbors, on the commuter train, and around town.

Having said that, yes, she should be accountable for it. Someone has to show her and any others like her, that there is accountability for your actions. I call it karma, you call it what you will.

Belief in God, the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, and Fairy God Mothers

when we were a young child full of wonder at the world, so new, so innocent, we believed what ever mommy and daddy told us, if they said there was a tooth fairy why we believed it until we got older(hopefully) especially when we get our permanent teeth.. santa was probably discarded around the same time as the tooth fairy give or take a few years depending on gullibility or lack of it.. well lets face it we probably figured out the easter bunny first for the simple reason you only got some eggs,, which you can have any day of the week and you get to eat a lot of chocolate bunnies ears off not very pious mind you, nor do you fear the bunny might seek revenge for the impious act in some way like god might do remembering: the ark and ussa or wassa or something.

that definately should be considered as a contributing factor as to why and what order they get debuncked tooth fairy danta the benifit factor need to be brought in.. god too has to go in time, eventually, just like not all at once and for everybody.

religion to control the mind is on a head on course with human species vastly excellerated enlightenment.

This is the same type of "if" "then" reasoning the WTBTS uses, IMO. I don't think one has to necessarily follow the other. For example, if all stop signs are red, and apples are red, then all signs must be apples. huh? makes just about as much sense.
