At first, I thought your list was a joke, but now I see you're not! I can't believe I used to tell my boys what a great goal bethel service would be for them to reach out for, slap my hand, I was encouraging them to go to hell/jail. I cant believe the wt cant see how much they are like the pharasees.

Did you ever try any of the awkward, and somewhat creepy suggestions in the KM for Informal Witnessing?
by miseryloveselders inthe august km, has an article entitled, "you can witness informally!
" this week's service meeting will cover half of the 13 questions.
next week, congregations will finish the article along with a box full of several experiences with successful results from informal witnessing.

I remember them suggesting that when someone says "Im not interested" we were to reply "what exactly are you not interested in?" I tried it, the lady yelled "ANYTHING YOU HAVE TO SAY!" and slammed the door. I didn't use that one again.

Out of the mouths of babes!
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land ina congressman was seated next to a little girl on the airplane when he turned to her and said, "let's talk.
i've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.".
the little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to the total stranger, "what would you like to talk about?".

The meaning of Jesus' death, without Paul
by Doug Mason ini want to ask a couple of serious questions.
hopefully the number of minds will clarify this for me.. .
1. if we ignore the writings by paul and those attributed to him, would we get the idea that the death of jesus was intended to be a substitutionary payment for another person's sin?.

Leolaia, are you saying that he freed captives, to jewish law and not the pardon of sins?

I didnt know him, but Im sorry for the loss of your friend. If he did committ suicide, it just shows that we just don't always know the internal torment that people are going through. Again, sorry.

Welcome & I commend you on your bravery. They are very afraid of your talking. Fortunately, you are not baptised so they can't disfellowship you . You may be treated as such, but they cant accuse you of being a scorned ex witness making this stuff up. I you havent already, look up silentlambs.org. Also andersoninfoservice(Barbara Anderson) has a thread of few pages back that you might find interesting regarding the 2 witness rule.
I pray for your sons as well as your recovery and strength to deal with this.

Welcome! My boys went through a similiar situation and because I was such a die hard jw it forced them to live double lives, which in turn caused them alot of anxiety. I controlled their internet use so much, that they really didn't have much support. Definately make some nonjw friends, watch what you say about the org, and it may seem silly now, but sock some money away. You never know what tomorrow brings and I want you to be prepared. We are here for ya, kid!

Im finally leaving my jw husband.
by littlebird insome of you know i have struggled with this for awhile.
i really do believe in marriage and the committment, however, sometimes enough is enough.. his endless preaching at me and calling me and my (adult) children satan has me realizing that this situation is not going to get better.
the other day he kicked my son out of the house for wearing a cap, in his car, with a skull on it.

Thank you Quentin, right after the pictures comment, he then wanted me to stay and pay half of my sons rent, apparently, he accuses our son as the cause of our problems. I cant get moved til the 3rd, so this is going to be rough.
It amazes me how few friends I really have, I've gotten more support here then from people I see on a regular basis. With exception of a handle ful of people, I feel pretty alone, except for here. Thanks everybody.
