Non-dual quote
by Introspection inthis quote is from an interview with eckhart tolle:.
.. you cannot fulfill the commandments unless you are egoless--and there are very few who are--as all the people who have tried to practice the teachings of christ have found out.
"love your neighbor as yourself" is one of the main teachings of jesus, and you cannot fulfill that commandment, no matter how hard you try, if you don't know who you are at the deepest level.

The Power of Belief
by Introspection inthis is another quote taken from be careful what you pray for... by larry dossey.
it's a bit long but i thought it was interesting.
no doubt each reader of this account will perceive it in different ways, but i think the questions are worthy of consideration.

Vitamin E
by Introspection init seems that often when a new study comes out, there are many who like to point their finger and say "see?
that proves ---" as if one single study always definitively establishes or disproves the efficacy of a given chemical agent, be it vitamin or drug.
some people also think that the fact it appears in a prestigious journal like jama necessarily indicates it is gospel truth.

Psychology of prayer
by Introspection init seems there has been much talk on prayer lately, and i thought it would be helpful for us to discuss the psychological nuts and bolts, without getting into the realm of religious belief.
regardless of whether the source of change is human or divine mind, i think we can agree that the mind is a powerful thing, capable of affecting real change.. my guess is most of us don't pray for money or material things, but those of us who do basically ask for two things: direction and strength, or you might say knowledge and power.
i recall that as jws, we were taught to be specific in our prayers.

Still preaching?
by Introspection init seems to me that many who have left the hive seem to want to do a sort of "anti-preaching", to proclaim the evils of the society, religion, whatever.
i agree that certain issues need to be made known to the public, but my question is about how we do it.
if we're preachy about it, how effective are we likely to be?

Intro's quote-o-rama
by Introspection ini guess i've been inspired by stephen's quote threads, so i'm going to start one myself.. not one particular author here, just whatever i can find:.
q: why do you think that people are so protective of their egos?
why is it so hard to let go of one's ego?.

Content of forums big and small
by Introspection ini understand there has been a number of smaller xjw forums that has sprung up, and i've noticed that it seems like there is less in depth discussions on those, it seems like it's more of a homey place to hang out and chat.
i'm guessing one of the reasons would be there's just less people there, so you don't have as many different viewpoints.
has anyone else noticed differences like this?
