  Is it normal to quote without naming the source like WT does?

  i am noticing here and there that the wt literature will say things like "one bible dictionary says ..." or "one scholar says ..." and then proceed with a quotation.

  my immediate reaction is to ask myself why they didn't provide the specific source of the quote - author, publication, page #, etc.

  so i am wondering, do other magazines do this?

  Quoting them almost got me charged with plagiarism in college.

  If you quote a publication that is not quotable, you can get into this situation.

  Works cited are a must in academia.

  a study was released by the center for american progress (cap) that establishes that the enforcement-only approach these restrictionist groups ad-nauseam advocate isnt sustainable in the long-term.

  the study estimates that a strategy aimed at deporting the nations population of illegal immigrants would cost the government approximately $285 billion over five years.

  i would assume that some or a good number of us here as normal humans in this society - consider " lawless " actions to include murder , robbery, extortion, rape, child abuse, war , terrorism, etc.

  the wt society has their own definition of what's considered " lawless ".

  anything that's considered a disfellowshipping offense in the jehovah's witnesses is now considered " lawless ".

  with the new " overlap generation " theory that the wt society is pushing onto rank and file jehovah's witnesses since last year this article i found really heavy hitting in the jw version of the wt.

  the wt society is leaking oil in that confidence is low among jw's in not really buying into the " generation overlap " theory as many younger jw's are exiting the organization.

  so what better way to try reeling members back in by giving them an article entitled " do not deceive yourself with false reasoning " !

  A truer example of "groupthink" cannot be found. This makes sense only to the Writing Department, and completely brainwashed Dubs. Anyone else in the JW world can see this is a dodge. They f**ked up yet again, and it is your fault for believing what they speculated.

  it is so strange how once you distance yourself from your kingdom hall and friends, that they find it necesary to discuss and contemplate your departure and put out all kinds of statements that simply are not true.. i am licking my wounds today because some kind of nasty things were said about me to a friend of mine who is df, from her ubber righteous sister.

  it was via text, so it was there to read.

  the thing i can't figure out is i have nothing to do with this woman.

  i had to give a talk away today, which came up somewhat unexpected.

  i had a couple days to get this outline together, and thats sufficient enough time for me, but i prefer knowing a week in advance.

  at any rate, it all worked out.
