yesterday as i was leaving the apartment, there were two women in skirts, holding bibles at the door across from me.
i almost panicked!
i definitely want to talk the jws if they ever come to my door (no one knows me in this area) but i'm not ready yet!.
Hi Bluecanary- This site may prove usefull- http://www.4mormon.org/ They have printable pamflets that you can use during your discussion, questions and testimonies from ex-mormons
a sister site to this one is- http://www.4jehovah.org/ Same things just JW styled.
over on my literature burning thread, someone jokingly suggested that when the big a comes i am going to regret not saving that paper for toilet paper..... this made me think of recent discussions my fiancee and i have had on this subject.. when we first started dating about 4 months ago, i would come to their apartment for coffee or dinner...after awhile i started spending the night.
one thing i noticed was the toilet paper.
lousy one-ply.
I live on a farm and I call my out side toilet mum's office- I have a book shelf on the wall and a cute fluffy mat on the floor, my cordless telephone has great reception out there also... necessity is the mother of all invention! I have kids- it's the only room in the house (or in my case- outside the house) that I seem to get any privacy in!!!
except for this-
Ninja- a bear in the woods asks the rabbit "hey, does poop stick to your fur?"

Some Aussie 'Slang Words' for use in the bath room-
Crapper - toilet.
Dunny - an outside toilet, lavatory.
John - toilet.
Loo - toilet.
Thunda Box - an ouside toilet, lavatory.
To answer your question it's got to be 2ply!, A common question here is... do you scrunch or fold??? LOL
"remember, always, young man, that science which has become a great power in the last century, has analyzed everything divine handed down to us in the holy books.
after this cruel analysis the learned of this world have nothing left of all that was sacred.
but they have only analyzed the parts and overlooked the whole, and indeed their blindness is marvelous.
I disagree with the quote from The Brothers Karamazov by Fedor Dostoevskij, Book 4, chapter 1........
For even those who have renounced Christianity and attack it still follow the Christian ideal.
The Christian IDEAL stated here is the "Ethic of Reciprocity" (do unto others...), and is contained within nearly all Religious beliefs. I have studied many Religious beliefs, both modern and ancient, and although it may be worded differently, or presented in a different manner, it is there. Sometimes its right on the surface, sometimes you have to look a little more deeply for it . Even Anton LaVey's Church of Satan has a version of it!

"Deism declares, that the practice of a pure, natural, and uncorrupted virtue, is the essential duty, and constitutes the highest dignity of man; that the powers of man are competent to all the great purposes of human existence; that science, virtue, and happiness are the great objects which ought to awake the mental energies, and draw forth the moral affections of the human race." ~Elihu Palmer

telegraph uk: charles darwin film 'too controversial for religious america'.
a british film about charles darwin has failed to find a us distributor because his theory of evolution is too controversial for american audiences, according to its producer.
creation, starring paul bettany, details darwin's "struggle between faith and reason" as he wrote on the origin of species.

Next thing we'll see is mass book burnings, women being kept in the homes and made to wear scarfs over their faces.... wait.... didn't your gov just liberate a country from that kind of dick-tato-ship????????????????
LAND OF THE FREE- my
so for some time i have been threatening to burn my remaining watchtower literature.
i had gotten rid of two bookcases worth via a thread or two here, mailing it to various jwders for (hopefully) nefarious purposes.
i was down to one last 32 gallon rubbermaid container.
BURN BOOKS BURN
We kept nice and warm by our open fireplace this winter- and the WT's & Awake mags add a nice green hue to the flames- Damn it felt good!
i recently met a woman here at work (a contractor) and discovered she is an ex-jw.
eventually we got around to telling why each of us left the religion.
she said the main reason for her was not doctrines, but because she was tired of the physical and emotional abuse she received.
Im speachless...... Hugs for the brave who have spoken up and hugs for those still suffering in silence.
