in life, i usually trust new people, at least on face value, until i discover otherwise.

yet, my normal belief system is now in doubt.

i've just replied to a thread started by 'goldensky' - an alleged spanish lady with lots of history as an extremely devout jw in spain.

Ok this is getting out of control. You learn to listen to people who REALLY know what they're talking about. I, for one, trust what Flipper says he's very nice to new people like myself, while others still think they are on the debate team in Middle School.

I went to my 1st JW 'gathering' in 3 years

the negative outlook of the jehovahs witnesses made me leave the religion.

i was a young man (you can read my previous experiences) who was consumed by negativity.

it made me want to kill myself at one point.. i went to a gathering with my wife recently & i have to say that they are just as negative as i was, but worse.. consumed with depressing tales of misery, depression & general pessimism.. in no way would i be attracted to those people.

Anything specific they said to you that was so negotive, or was it just a feeling you got when you were around them?

One time as a child I was answering. The answer was supposed to be, "Shadrack, Meshack, and Abendigo." I didn't quite get what my mom wispered in my ear, and as I got the mike I yelled out, "YOU SHACK, I SHACK, AND AWAY WE GO!"

Halloween

i live in a country where this isn't typically a big event, and only in recent years have more started doing the whole 'trick or treat' thing.

however, i have been invited to a halloween party.

i've never participated in it before.. problem is this: i am still scared of my parents, they are a big part of my life, and know most of everything i do.

I used to have "costume parties" in Oct. because it was the best time to find costumes. You could call it a costume party and it would be OK.

Other than the guys that bought it were from Brooklyn, NY. but that's still not NYC..........just saying......I love NYC too.

The Stanly Theatre is in Jersey City, NJ. Wikipedia says, "It was bought by Jehovah's Witnesses in 1983 for $800,000 dollars, seven years later they bought the surrounding buildings also". Some say it was bought for $18 Million. I'll have to look into it. Just wondering about PALMTREES thoughts, I know she loves NYC but it has nothing to do with the Stanley Theater.

Whats those squiggily lines upbove the sign? It looks like the middle one says, "kid oid" and then has brackets that resemble a bed. Maybe they molest kids. No wonder there's no windows!!!!
