  The biggest issue the Society has to face.

  not paedophilia - as much as that must be dealt with.

  not blood, shunning, corruption, failed prophecy, bunked chronology, the internet or u.n type scandals.. the biggest issue/threat the watchtower faces is authority.. hold up any other issue before a true jw and the shutters come down.

  I was almost engaged in a little bit of whoopass between me and two elders,

  one of them on a witch hunt. He simmered down once he seen I was getting

  very agitated. Shortly after that he went to another congo.

  ( Quirky1).

  Hello, pleased eloborate on the 'witch hunt'. I think its a very serious experience on your side.

  Congraculation for this outstanding achievement on the part of your child. In fact, you have nothing to loss from enslavement and grip from this infamous WTBS. To hell with the WTS. I think its a modern 'German Nazi" that masquerades in the name of god and religion. What a tragedy and inhumanity!

  Last night at "Worlds Apart"

  hi everyone, i met a bunch of people from the 'ex-jw meetup' at the screening of world's apart last night.

  i just wanted to say again how amazing it was to see you there and to talk to you after the movie.

  i've been "disfellowshipped" for 10 years, but i don't think i've ever really talked to any ex-jw's in depth like that.

  First Assembly of Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses-United State

  hmmm..., why not organise it?

  we have all the experiences in our group.

  afterall, we are a significant block.

  Can my kids were camo? Can I leave my cell phone on? Do I have to take notes?

  Can I save seats for those "not" in my car group? Can I take pictures with a flash

  during the drama? Can we put beer in the cooler? Can we frolic in the baptismal pool?

  I'm there!

  (no more kool aid).

  Admittedly, there are a number of obvious pros and cons. My idea was not to recreat a religious atmosphere akin to above description. Think of something like a fellowship, an Appreciation Day, Fest, National Meetup. Right now, I think the Silent lamb is doing great advocacy work to defend those abused by JW elders. Another one I think is defending those who have exercised their rights to accept blood tranfusion. You know, running away from a cult is a like escaping from the paw of a lion. Already weakened, many find it much tough to rebuild their lives after spending so many years in 'enslaved' by WTBS. A large gathering like that one might be able to bring up those issues, provide needed support to regain humane sanity and social stability. Please,what do you think?

  One time I gave a talk and an elder had his outline right out there, which to me was a bit much.

  He approached me afterward to ask why I added additional info not contained in THAT outline.

  I pointed out that I covered the ENTIRE outline and I added my examples or illustrations to

  make the points easier to comprehend. He didn't like the answer. He was an oldtime PO.

  So I looked at him and told him if he didn't like my talks, I simply wouldn't come back.

  He told his elders and one of them called me directly and apologized for the PO's behavior,

  saying merely that he's just like that (minimus ).

  The article explained how the Anointed 'know' they are such in a way that the average JW can

  understand and accept ... as it is the only article of its kind I could ever find ... and if more JWs

  had read the article, there would be at least 100,000 or more Anointed today, which would begin

  to seriously challenge the Watchtower theory on the limitation to only 144,000. The School Overseer

  just stood there, speechless, and never challenged again ( Amazing).

  Missed college when you were younger? Here's a good solution!

  at my age i didn't want to spend the next 4-10 years going to college classes after work.

  i have mentioned this in a few popsts but wanted to share this on a new thread so that everyone can find out how easy and cheap it can be to go to college.. i am studying online with cuny (city university of ny).

  tuition is $2165 per semester if you take 4 or more classes.

  If one has a BS degree but wants to take a master degree, will the the CLEP - (College Level Examination Program) helps him get it the faste way than through the traditional long means?

  listening to the talks...not to be overly critical, but because I have ADD and it helped me focus.....

  The so-called D and F speakers were counseled by myself, and/or the TMS overseer or the PO after the meeting.

  Often they did not stay for hospitality (aka lunch)."

  I think this action as described above was certainly unfair to the speaker involved and to large extent, it showed lack of appreciation for the voluntary effort the speaker did put in including travel to present it. But thanks anyway for sharing. Its great to know this.
