it's usually linked to a story of how they were wronged and want some revenge.
do these 'in your face' attempts to convince people that the truth isn't the truth really have an effect?.

by Aussie Oz inbeen going nuts looking for this.. i am sure i have read, and probably saved, a quote by them about not being false prophets but i am buggered if i can find it anywhere in search, google or my own pc.. can you help?.
i think its 2009 but not sure, where they have the line 'never have we said ''jehovah has said'' when ...'.

by Scott77 inmy father (who is an elder) hasnt been abusive, but he has reaffirmed that he will be shunning us the moment things become official.
we spent a few days vacation together in picturesque northern croatia before i sat him down and attempted to explain my position.
after i revealed the information on the un/ngo scandal to dad by showing him newspaper articles from 2001, he was initially nauseous and didnt want to hear any more.

I do not see any misunderstanding in this situation. Based on your perspective, I was trying to expand on my understaning as to the reason why John Cedar's Father who is Jehovah's Witness Elder reacted the way he did when his son confronted him with an honest and factual issue of Watchtower's involvement in the UN/NGO political matters. RVW states it was like 'Cognitive dissonance' . But is it possible generalize Cedar's father's defensive reaction to all JWs Elders and by extensioin, all JW rank and files? So when Steve2 states, it was 'unsurprising',I thought he knew already what Cedar's dad would have reacted this way.
