I also agree with garybuss...........although I know it's not all black and white and every circumstance is not the same.....I really believe that when you know what's right andwrong and yet refuse to stand up for your beliefs and defend your rights...... because perhaps its "easier" and more comfortable to stay where you are.... then you are somewhat of a coward or lacking backbone. It would perhaps prompt the question as to why these ones are here in the first place........Is it because they truly have alove of God and his Truth.....or because it just happens to be convenient?

Sad ending to a sad era ...
by The Berean inwhile i am new to this network, the evidence seems to be overwhelming that the wbts is in decline.
while many voice their pleasure at this prospect, it is in many ways sad for me:.
it is sad that so many have spent such a great quantity of their early lives supporting a cause that appears to have been a waste of time.

this is what I posted on ninja's thread.....SO THEY NEVER CLAIMED TO BE A FALSE PROPHET
KM May 1974 pg 3 : -
"Reports are heard of brothers selling their homes and property and planning to finish out the rest of their days in this old system in the pioneer service. Certainly this is a fine way to spend the short time remaining before the wicked world's end."
It may seem plausible enough that the bros. were actually being recognised for their devotion and belief that 1975 would bring Armageddon. They were being held up as an example of great faith for others to follow. Many, many bros. and sisters made sacrifices, some of them huge, all based on a date. As far as they were concerned , they believed with all their heart that Jehovah would be bringing his judgement against the nations, and Armageddon would here.......IN JUST ONE YEARS TIME! That is why they were so ready, willing and able to sacrifice all they had.
BUT THEN WHAT? WHAT WAS SAID WHEN 1975 CAME AND WENT AND THESE POOR SAD BROS WERE LEFT WITH NOTHING? DID THE ORG. STEP IN TO PICK UP THE PIECES?
WT 15th July 1976 : - It suggested that any who were "diappointed" by the non - arrival of Armageddon.......
"...should now concentrate on adjusting his viewpoint, seeing that it was not the word of God that failed or deceived him and brought disappointment, but that his OWN UNDERSTANDING was based on wrong premises."
NO SYMPATHY ! WHEREAS BEFORE, IN THE KM OF 1974, THEY WERE BEING PRAISED FOR THEIR STRENGTH OF FAITH AND BELIEF, THEY WERE NOW IN THE 1976 WT, BEING SHOWN TO BE SPIRITUALLY WEAK AND SPIRITUALLY IMMATURE! THEY WERE ACTUALLY BLAMING THE BROTHERS THEMSELVES FOR HAVING A WRONG VIEWPOINT !
HOW ON EARTH WOULD THESE BROS. HAVE FELT WHEN THAT MAGAZINE CAME OUT ? Some of these people gave up everything they had. Their jobs, their houses, their money. Many put things on hold like getting married, having a family or a career. Some, ..... put off having medical treatment and suffered the consequenses, perhaps dying prematurely.
There is no real interest in the individuals who ultimately give them their strength. They deny responsibility for everything they do wrong...and in this instance, they blamed the bros. even though their belief and enthusiasm in the 1975 date was fanned to a white heat ......BY THE ORGANIZATION !.........THEY DISGUST ME!

66 year old new mom!!!
by crapola ini just read about a woman that's having her first child at age 66. i feel that's a little to old to have a baby.
what do all of you think about that?.
-
iknowall558
On the positive..........if she's a much longed for child which she probably, is then she will be a much loved child...look at all the people who have kids and can't be bothered with them..........to go through that at 66yrs of age , you can be guaranteed that this child will be absolutely cherished.
On the negative.......when her daughter is 14yrs old , the mother will be 80yrs. How unfair that possibly the child may need to become her carer when she should be out doing girly teenage things with her pals. School and exams and teenage issues will figure prominently in this girls life round about this age. If the mother is bound by her old age and is not as active or compesmentos as she once was, how will this affect the girl's ability to focus on learning ? And what if the mother gets "broody" again in a years time....what will people say about that ?

My letter to all the schools about the effects of JW teachings
by boyzone ini wrote this letter several months ago but didn't feel strong enough to deal with the jw flack it might cause.
now i'm feeling better and ready to let the professionals around me know just how insidious the jw teachings can be on susceptable young minds.
the forst 6 letters will go out to the high schools in my area.

Thanks for your support. I feel much better. I've just finished the letter and will hand it in tomorrow. The "13" are only the parents. My husband and I added it up and there are actually 30 'shunners'....half are children, half are adults. That will be reduced to zero come August.

I read this when you first put it up and it's taken me ages to find it again. I am currently in the process of writing a letter to the headmistress of my son's school, explaining why I'm taking him out of it and putting him into another one.
My son is finding it extremely distressing to witness the shunning of me by every other witness parent and their children, (13) of them, every single day that he's at school. He is only 7years old and I can't believe the detrimental effect that it's having on him. He has an older brother who is upset by this too, but he will be going to high school next term and will for the most part be away from it. My youngest would still have another 4 YEARS of this to try and cope with.
I want to say thanks to you for posting your letter as it's helped me out in trying to put across my points and my reasons for removing him from the school. I was able to borrow some of your info. that I'm sure will give the teachers a better insight and understanding as to how these rules affect innocent children. Thanks again.

gays in your congregation...?
by Albert Einstein inaccording statistics, there should be in every congregation about 4 gays.. my experience is, that some decided to live a "normal" life and get married and you hardly noticed them.. but there are some types, who, from how they speak and behave, are absolutely obvious gays.
did you have them in your congo?
how did your congregation treat them?.

There was a young guy in our cong. known him since birth. Has a younger bro. Mum a witness and dad an MS. It was obvious from an early age that he had the gay thing going on...(no offense). He always hung out with girls, liked dressing up and loved dancing. Anyway, the teenage years came along and he did end up getting baptized , left school and found a job. He was a very likeable boy, got on well with everyone and had a good spark about him. So, the inevitable happened . After he had a few dalliances with some of the young sisters, his true preference came to the fore and he ended up getting DF. I DA'd not long after , and his mum and dad both shun me on a weekly basis.......but I don't know how many times I've seen them in the local supermarket, .......his mum shunning ME while helping her gay DF son AND his boyfriend load up their trolley with their weekly shopping. Hmmmm..............

wow ! thats amazing. She was obviously very alert. I've been through that book about 4 times at the tues. book study and never once noticed the subtle insertions in the artwork. I too like to paint.......dont know if I would call myself an artist though, but I did sell one of my paintings a month ago. Now that I know what's invovled in painting and producing a finished work, it does amaze me how the 'artists' for the WT are able to do this so well. They are clever indeed.
