  The JWs claim to have the only 'true' understanding of the Bible. None of these verses are ambiguous. They say what they say. They obviously have an aversion to all things 'Jesus' and if the FDS says, "the emblems are not for you" then they are calling Jesus a liar and basically saying "there, there Jesus, just you go and have a lie down, leave it to us and we'll tell people what you REALLY meant to say."

  firstly let me explain my standing.

  over the years i have been priviledged and i have had many life experiances.. i have read the qu'ran and prayed in a mosque.. i have read the bible and prayed in a church i have also served in a church in a choir.. i have been to catholic, methodist and church of england churches trying to find the truth.. i believe in christ i believe in god.. .

  this year i have had a particular hard time with my life and recieved an invite to the memorial service.. i had every intention of going along (let me state i am not a jw).

  welcome ian you seem to be a very honest person and will find that being a free thinker is something that you have in common with everyone who posts on this forum. This is the reason why most are not JWs now , because as you asked...there is no room for interpretation on a personal level. Jws are expected to go along with all teachings of the jw organization whether they agree with them or not, regardless of what they read in the Bible and regardless of whether you know it to be wrong or not. As a JW you are expected to "fall in line with the WT". Many , many of the JW people are lovely , kind people who do truly have a love for God and usually you will find that the criticism is mostly directed not to individuals but toward the organization itself and what it does to people and how it makes them behave. You said you are searching for the "TRUTH", but please believe me when I say you wont find it with JWs......too many people on here will testify to that. The only truth is to be found in the bible itself . You will see at John14;6 that Jesus is the truth. The JW orgs. arms are always outstretched ready to welcome anyone into their fold , but only on their terms. They wont offer you freedom but enslavement....to their rules, their teachings and their organization.

  hate the memorial meeting tonight

  i have to go to the memorial tonight but i hate it.

  i feel so bad today.

  i feek sick all the time and i nearly fainted this morning.

  Give yourself something to look forward to when you come back home......good film , good food, good drink...perhaps all three. I Feel bad for you. This is my first time not going. Just remember its only for an hour or so then its all over. By this time next year you may be saying the same to someone else...

  What was the cheesiest talk you ever gave?

  when i was 15 or 16 i had to do a part with my best friend about masturbation and why it was wrong.

  omg when we were practicing in the back room, we kept giggling.

  and then, of course, when the time came and we were up there on stage, we both remembered the parts that we were giggling about in back and started giggling all over again!

  Long time lurker, 1st time poster

  well where do i start, perhaps will go into more detail later, though briefly - 40 years young, raised in the truth (kingdom baby, which meant i was never going to make it to primary/secondary school/work/get married/have kids....) former ms, regular pioneer, learnt 3 foreign languages, served in foreign language group, married (wife still goes to meetings), beautiful kids, baptised at 15 years of age, regular pioneer at 15, grew up in divided house.. .

  hmmm, will go into my issues with all things organisational later, though firstly want to apologise, for being a self righteous spiritual pratt who did things by the book and sat with other elders/mss and prejudged others for not doing enough and having a wrong attitude about all matters spiritual and organisational.

  i stepped down as an ms over a year ago (they were grooming me to be an elder), havent been to a meeting in 3 months, i knew it wasnt the truth for a number of years and have struggled badly the last few years.

  Naughty Things Our Kids Have Done

  anything your kids have done that were way naughty or could have gotten you in trouble with the ehhhl-duhrz..... once my littlest one when he was about 4 or 5 years old asked his mom for a bowl of cereal.

  so, she sends his older brother to go downstairs and make them both some cereal.

  so the bigger one is an real ass and decides it's time to lord it over his baby brother.

  When my son was 5years old I was down at the local 'video' shop to choose a film to watch that evening. We eventually found one that was suitable and stood in the long queue to be served. As we were nearing the front and my son noticed the array of sweets and crisps on offer he shouted in a loud voice "I WANT COP PORN !" I WANT COP PORN !" We have just recently found out he may have dyslexia. Sadly the shop had nothing in that range.....I would only have taken it if they 'd thrown in free hand cuffs. (Furry ones of course ) . I left the shop with a red face and no popcorn.

  Need your comments on Luke 20:34,35

  dealing with the seven brothers and the one wife - jesus said, they will be as the angels, and cannot die anymore so my ??

  is if they are not going to heaven and will stay on the earth as "eunuchs" are they "princes" since they cannot die anymore and arent supposed to go to heaven, so sayeth the wtb$??

  and if the mate goes thru armageddon , apparently they will not live as husb and wife anymore ... any one out there with some insight on this?
