Nice work there Richster.

i don't know how many of you knew this, but i've been looking for a job.
i submitted an app to a local burger joint, and one to a really good chicken place called zaxby's.
i had an interview yesterday at the burger place.
Nice work there Richster.

after you left the jws and entered your post wts era what sort of things did you learn about them that you found surprising?
there are some recent jws that haven't even heard of russell or even rutherford let alone of their objectionable conduct especially that of rutherford.
or they don't know anything about malawi and mexico, the ray franz incident and the witchhunt of the early 80's, or the organ transplant ban.
I didn't realise how actively and deliberately dishonest many sections of the publications were. In my opinion, to lie to or mislead someone who trusts you is practically unforgivable. Specifically: the trinity booklet, How Did Life Get Here, that pack of lies that was that booklet on the orgs history (forget the name), anything on chronology and the weasely retractions over 1975 and This Generation, passing the blame onto the r&f.

thought i'd open up a new thread to discuss the benefits and downfalls of spelling reform.

Danny, the French spelling is just as chaotic if not worse.
but the pronunciation is at least consistent, if confusing (to my ear anyhoo).
On a very minor point (I can't top what Pole said), I'd like to see the apostrophe taken out into the back garden and put out of its misery. The poor little thing has to be one of the most abused items in the english language, and even reasonably bright people get its useage wrong sometimes, especially in "its" when used as a posessive pronoun. Let's get rid of it and save the confusion.

Could she help us see your post as well? I see nothing....

brief history:.
both my wife and i have faded from the borg for about 10 years.
we still maintain close relationhips with the dubs in our family on both sides.. my wife's sister has not only faded, but she has become an ordained minster, thus my mother in law calls her an "apostate" and refuses to have any contact with her.. her 4 year old daughter will stay with my family for about 2 weeks in august.
What Crumpet said. The relationship between the sisters would be destroyed if the truth were to come out. And you're going to have to ask a 4 year old child to be in on the deception, to keep a secret from her own mother.
Good luck reasoning with your wife.

saturday seems to be much preferred over sunday, so this years bbq will be held on saturday, july 9th, commencing around 2 pm.
location is our home in weston super mare.
as usual, the day will be very boozy and proceedings will conclude in the waverley pub.
Hi Ballistic, I think we were both talking to Nicolaou the other day, but don't think we've had this conversation ourselves. I only relatively recently moved to where I am now, long after me JW-ing days were over.

boffins create zombie dogs
by nick buchan of news.com.aujune 27, 2005 from:
eerie ... boffins have brought dead dogs back to life, in the name of science.
Were you thinking they might want to use this technique to preserve the governing body?
I enjoyed the contrast between the headline and picture (zombies and snarling viscious dog picture) with the reasonably measured tone of the article.

as an american, i see words such as cheerio, blimey, bloody (when referring to something negative), loo, bugger, fag (cigarette), etc.
as chiefly british (i suppose they are).. what words and/or phrases do you consider to be chiefly american?
i'm honestly unaware of which words i use that may not be used in other english-speaking countries.
roflmfao Sherri. That's gold
I do like the merry-can way of saying "HELLO?" as a standalone ejaculation, to indicate that the person they're talking to is like, y'know, kinda dum (<--- or stupid as we say in the Queen's english)
