Who is your hero?

personally, as a computer programmer, my hero is a bit odd perhaps - gordon ramsey.

i think gordon ramsey is awesome.

no nonsense - he tells boring, lazy, mediocre people that they are mediocre, and passionately tells them what they are doing wrong... because he wants them to do better.

No mention in KMs of any increase in pubs. in U.S. for half of service year

i notice, on another ex-jw site, for their "field service highlights" for the u.s. (not counting turks island) , it doesn't mention any increase in 'publishers' for half of the service year, sept. '10- february '11 (6 mos).

makes me assume there hasn't been any or much, otherwise they would have tooted their horn about it.

however, there has been quite an increase in pios.

ixthis, you gave a very nice post regarding prayers. I must say that many things that happened to me turned me to be agnostic. There are lot of issues that I have with the Church, but still for anyone that has faith your post is great. Plus it gives a different point of view of the Orthodox Church and faith...I do love the Byzantine Icons and Churches, they hold a supernatural feeling when you enter to the Church.

I don't agree those who post to make fun or mock. No matter what we must respect the faith of other people, even if we don't agree with them.

more than one million people are out in the streets today in athens, greece, protesting against the new financial measures that the government is trying to pass.. the building of the greek parliament is blocked by protesters.

situation started to get bad, since the police had a clash with a group of "anarchist".

i guess we are all anarchists in greece, since we are looking for a better future for us and our children.. the corrupted governments that ruled this country from 1974, when dictatorship ended, have lead to poverty 11 million greeks.

I'm not sure how long he will last, but he played very well the last few days, from Ecoumenical Goverment with "selected" personalities, to a reform that actually means NOTHING..Same persons that just changed possition. It is like having a band and saying that you need to change members and then instead of getting new persons and fire the old ones, you just switch possitions: The drammer becomes keyboard player, the keyboard player now is a drummer, the bass guitarist becomes lead singer, the lead singer becomes lead guitarist, and the lead guitarist plays the sax....

I guess this what George is trying to do, but the most funny is that he believes that with this reform things will get better!!!

Indeed he is beyond any logic...ok dude you tried with IMS, it didn't worked out. You screw us, but still you insist that you took the correct course for saving Greece...It is just SIMPLE God damn mathematics...Greece cannot pay the loan with this terms. There aren't any money left...

Perhaps before the most "evil and apostate" books to have is WT's old publications. A "religion" that their founder is considered to have "apostate" teachings according to WT's new understanding...Can you walked on the KH with the books of Russell(Study of the Scriptures)and give answers from those books?

Or can you take those books to a new Bible study? The answer is simply NO...You will considered an "apostate"and if you continue to use them you will be kicked out from the Organization...simple as that...

It takes a LOT of courage to open the gates of your mind. It takes a LOT of courage to explore and discover new things. Most of all it takes a lot of courage to USE your mind and have your OWN opinion in certain matters.

Jesus said that "light does not afraid of the darkness". If WT has the light then they have nothing to be afraid. But instead of accepting an honest invenstication of their doctrines, they send to hell anyone who dares to question them. It is the opposite of what Jesus said, that the "truth will set you free".

IS THE UK A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY NOW ?

well here we have kids and old age pensioners living below the poverty line, and the prime minister promises 1.4 billion to overseas aid for jabs... the uk is a dumping ground for immigrants, and they all get houses and cars payed for by the tax payer.

i am not racisit but when my country is bankrupt then we need to close the borders and look after our own.

the freeloader imigrants need to find a new place to squat as the uk has run out of money, schools , hospitals, and most of all jobs.

That's strange!!! I have a friend that left UK and once he told me that in 30 years UK would become like a third world country, due to all those immigrants that moved there. It would be a radical change of the Ethnic population, even religion, since we have many immigrants from India, Bagladesh, Pakistan. He said you will walked in the streets of England and you will feel that you are in New Delhi...

I think he was correct...

The peaceful protesters, are trying to isolate the persons with hoods that are setting fires and fighting with the police. I repeat that this are pawns...
