  New to Halloween...What do YOU do?

  i've never celebrated halloween (too bad none of you live around here - jacksonville fl), but for whatever reason, i have alot of good memories from the anticipation of the various holidays as a child (i'm originally from a state that actually had seasons), even though we as jw's did'nt participate.

  i still remember being at friends' houses, seeing them apparently happy and found myself wishing that i could have something to look forward too that was fun and not just the memorial (such a solemn occasion).

  i have swore to myself that when (and if) i ever have children that i will celebrate them (the holidays + birthdays) as would want them to have some of the memories that i was denied.. am i making too much of this?.

  What do you think - are most ex-JWs atheist, agnostic, or still involved in some form of religion?

  i dad 6 years ago because, after a rational search came to the conclusion that there probably is no god.

  shortly afterwards, i concluded that (for me) there is no god, which made me feel that i really was a natural-born humanist - a position that i'm entirely comfortable with.

  i know that many former jws hold a similar, atheistic viewpoint.

  I will say 50-50...I'm of those who are religious and turn to Christianity...I have nothing against Organized religion as long it does not have any effect in my personal freedom and choice....

  Indeed..Watchtower is the ULTIMATE dream of the CAPITALISTIC system. They managed to make people working for them FREE and not only that those who work free the contribute money to the Watchtower....

  Pray -Jehovah will save you...or let you die depending on "his will." Please Explain?

  witness yearbooks are full of experiences where jehovah saved a poor witness who prayed for help...and the soldiers walked passed and did not see them etc, etc.

  however, other brothers prayed and still got executed by gillotine so...why does gods will allow such things?

  isn't this just random chance put down as god's will?

  It is all matter of coinsidence dude...I can give you hundreds of true stories from people that survived the genocide by the Turks in my country and also others that they were killed. It is all a matter of luck...

All the land they inherit it belonged to Philistines(Palaistinians) and took over the land by commiting massive genocides. Any how they still follow the pattern of their forefathers...nothing changed they have replace the sword and spears with M-16, Apatche Helicopters, F-16 fighters, Magach Tanks, that slaughter again unarmed women and children in order to establish YHWH's domination

  ive kind of been lurking on this website for a month and ive decided to introduce myself so a little background.

  i was born and raised jw at about the age of sixteen i started to have doubts about my mothers chosen religion (dad is not jw) so started to do some research and decided it wasnt for me.

  my mothers still at me about going back though.

  Don't push them...the worst thing to do it is to attack JW's faith. Just let it go, or try small things, one at a time if you wanna help them. Other wise is a waste of time. They are the ones that have to realize that they are living in the WT's Matrix

  a friend told me that he saw richard williams, the girl's dad, in the audience wearing a cap that said "jehovah is god" anyone else see it?

  i remember growing up as a dub that everyone was constantly on the look out for what could be the cry of peace and security... then suddenly people just stopped, it stopped being mentioned in talks ... everything.
