Thank you for sharing that with us! It's a wonderful thing to watch our kids grow outside of the JW influence. Your daughter sounds like she has a bright future.

Texas Judge Who Was Taped Beating Daughter Is Suspended
by Justitia Themis inhttp://www.cnn.com/2011/11/23/justice/texas-beating-video/index.html?hpt=hp_t3.
.
judge william adams, who made national headlines after the release of a 2004 video of him beating his then-teenage daughter, has been suspended by the texas supreme court.. the reason for the action was not mentioned in an order of suspension that was made public tuesday.. adams, a court-at-law judge in aransas county, was roundly criticized when his now-adult daughter posted online a video of him beating her with a belt when she was 16.. the video also showed the judge cursing and berating hillary adams..

I agree with you George. She was on tv giving interviews and I felt as if she acted a bit spoiled. I do want to say that I in no way agree with how the father handled himself on that video. But, to me she had motives for releasing the tape other than 'to get her father the help he needed."

Thoughts on my life now
by freshstart inthough there are still problems in my life, as with everyone's life, i see the world so much differently now.
i no longer feel threatened from "worldly" people, as though somehow they are out to destroy me or take advantage of me.
it's very mentally liberating to realize that those walls the organization so erroneously put up can be scaled and that there is true beauty waiting on the other side.

Very nice post! As time goes on, your life will only get better in regards to the old JW mentality. So happy that you are able to enjoy it now.

by juni ini was in the mood today... got the tree cheap (came w/lights), decorations and ribbon for half price and made the bow myself to save money.
i was going to put it aside until after thanksgiving, but couldn't resist completing the project.

What's the latest status on ol' Brother Prince Rogers Nelson?
by NoRegrets ini was last affiliated with a minneapolis area congregation a few years back.
we saw prince and the larry graham entourage at a sunday meeting once and at many assemblies and conventions.
i know he was affiliated with a congregation in a city named chanhassen at one time.

QuestioningEverything
I think Prince is a hottie!! Sexy, too short for my taste but love him never the less.
He probably does get treated with favortism because of who he is. If anyone had told me years ago that everyone at the KH was not treated equal, I would have never believed it. Yes, I was that naive.
