Interesting read. The theories on pheromones affecting a daughter's entrance into puberty were pretty darn fascinating.
Hmmm

Mr Outlaw was apparently hitting on another female at the bar. When confronted by the defendant, she reportedly said, "I didn't know he was seeing anyone. You can HAVE his ass."

if anyone wants to hear a live tragically hip concert (ok it was taped last night) tune in to 103.3 the edge tonight.
it's a buffalo station.
you can hear it online here.. http://www.broadcast.com/radio/alternative/wedg/.
Sorry, but I'm going to see a live show tonight. The Comically Outdated.
i don't know if anyone has posted on this already but there is a new press release at http://www.jw-media.org/releases/default.htm?content=bg_molestation.htm that defines the current jw policy and i believe it has taken a step in the right direction!.
although they have not literally changed it to require reporting to the authorities in all states, they have finally put into print the following: "additionally, the victim may wish to report the matter to the authorities, and it is his or her absolute right to do so.".
i am glad to see, straight from the wt, acknowledgement that the adults involved have every right to go to the police.
The bottom line is we are not interested in reform, we are not interested in anything but the destruction of the WT. I hope you can appreciate this amidst all of the charades we play otherwise you will find yourself frustrated to no end with this crowd.
Path, you're doing it again. Weren't you one of the ones decrying generalizations? You've been repeatedly told that your above statement is not true; that the majority--probably VAST majority--don't want the total destruction of the WT, and it's certainly not the ONLY thing they're interested in. But you conveniently ignore it so you can point out generalizations and expose this great mythic charade everyone is supposedly playing.
Were you truely interested in a truthful and balanced view, you would accept the plain statements from this [unwashed] crowd who tell you they're not foaming-at-the-mouth apostates who literally want to see the WT HQ go up in flames... [deleted]
If you're going to ignore the evidence sitting right in front of you, at least follow your own advice and refrain from the generalizations.
Sorry if it seems that I'm singling you out to disagree with lately, but your condescending superiority complex is very off-putting.

last saturday, a former ministerial servant and pioneer committed suicide in the woodinville washington kingdom hall parking lot.
he was disfellowshipped several years ago, and according to the old sister that related the story to me today, he was depressed because no one would talk to him.
i don't know how i kept calm when she explained to me that "we couldn't talk to him...he was disfellowshipped.".
Tragic.
Thank you for sharing this Sabine. I know it must be difficult to stir up old memories.

this is about a quiz you can take on beliefnet.

1. Agnothetic (Apathetic with agnostic leanings - You don't know, and after giving so much of your life to a cooky cult, you don't really care. You've put in your time, now you're coasting, and if there is a Higher Being, you're sure she'll understand.)
OK I made that up.

.
how do you feel?do you like to be called apostate ?.
apostate just means: someone who renounces a former belief or principle.. to people who have never been witnesses it may not symbolise much.but to witnesses the word means a lot.in many of their minds it is synonymous with evil and perverted.. since it jw's who will likely call us apostate not others the term almost always has a bad or negative useage.. but it does identify us as people who have completely rejected the religion.. so is it good for us to use it or not?
As you said, we'll be (or have already been) branded apostates by JWs.
On this site the term is used with no negative connotations, in fact it is used with a positive spin. I use it with pride--just not around my family.
Hmmm
ok.... heres the scenario:.
you make plans with a "friend" on a project that will benefit you both..including something that may help you out in the long run as well.. your "friend" screws you over in a completly different respect...but one that cannot be ignored.
they show no remorse for the harm they have done either.. do you not proceed with the prearranged project on matters of principal because they may in turn screw you on that as well not to mention you really don't care to be around them at all.....or do you take your chance that they won't and keep your deal.. what would you pick.....matter of principal or contract?.
It would help to have a few more details. Does either project involve money? Was the betrayal a result of insensitivity, or malice?
This is an anonymous discussion board, so if it doesn't involve personal details, it might be worth your while to give a few more clues.
You could always say it's not you involved: "I have a friend, let's call them "WaterItDown", who needs some advice..."

Bono,
Might I humbly suggest you drop it?
It seemed to me that you were unfairly pounced on by a number of people in that thread, but it is pretty obvious now that an apology is not forthcoming (from anyone) so perhaps it's time to let it go.
Hijacking Larc's thread in retaliation for having yours hijacked isn't really going to accomplish anything.
For what it's worth,

- A torturous device worn around the necks of men and little boys, designed to cut off circulation to the brain, and therefore increase the need to depend on Jehovah's spirit to help them think and speak articulately. Some hackers call it a brain depletion device. Standard meeting and service dress for Witness males, and also Mormon elders. Something with which the person who invented it should be hanged. [196] Sometimes useful for wiping off glasses and dipping in soup at formal dinner parties. One of the first things that will be discarded in God's new world, as soon as the need for glasses disappears.
