  My first meeting after becoming an "apostate"

  well, i went to my first sunday meeting after realizing the real "truth" about the wts today.. it is interesting sitting there with a liberated mind-set now.. at one point my wife turned to me and asked during the public talk, "whats so funny?".

  ", i asked her.. "because youre smiling.".

  smiling at the kh, a sure sign that your not a jw i guess.. ~.

  first timer...feelin like crap

  hey everyone....this this my first time on one of these forums... been out for short while, but i miss my family and the friends i grew up with.. feeling a little shitty.

  how did u cope with suddenly being cut off from the people that you love and depend on?.

  Something I was never told about JW's.....

  .... those meetings are soooooooo boring.

  and don't get me started on the 3 days of hell i just spent at the district convention.

  (actually, if there isn't really a "hell", then it was 3 days of "non-existence") ok, ok, i get it.... as a witness, i should "give god glory", and make sure everything i do is being done in the glory of god.... but i don't need 3 days to get that point across.

  Repressed, Triggered and Recovered Memories

  first of all, let me say that many, if not most, of my memories of abuse and early childhood were recovered.

  some people feel that this diminishes my experience, or in some way denies what happened.

  i suffered from major depression and was quite suicidal for 2 years before something happened to trigger my memories.

  Jesika's father was an elder in my congregation and I told him everything in this post, plus quite a lot of other events and humilitations that make this seem as nothing. His reaction, and one I heard dozens of times, is one I'll never forget.

  "Jehovah is far too busy in heaven to worry about your petty little problems. Your job is get back to meetings and quit feeling so sorry for yourself."

  Yup, that a$$hole is my father. I remember my father telling me we were going over y'alls house so he could "help" you with your problems. What a joke!! I am sure he did alot more harm then good. I am sorry for that Chris.

  I know you will say I needn't apologize for him, but I feel I should.

  I have repressed memories too, and I am afraid of what they will entale. The only thing I can remember really well is being at school and at the KH, but not a whole lot about home life.

  Validation is nice to have, but not always there.

  IMO, for someone to have such horrific memories about ppl that were supposed to love you, well, the way I see it, why would you WANT those things to happen, or be remembered if they are false? To me, that is validation enough. Noone would WANT those things to happen (I am referring to your memories specificly Chris).

  I know you pretty well, and have known you most of my life, so I don't think the memories you have, you would have "made up" or something.

  You have come a long way, and Nina has been there every step. The love you two have for each other is a bond noone can break.

  Lost my job cause of the dubs!

  these last two weeks have been just plain awful for me... 2 weeks i hope to never have to go through.

  firstly my mum disowns me, then i lose my baby and get an infection from the miscarriage.

  i go back to work after having 10 days off to find out i have lost my job.
