The Trump Connection

i'm a little dumb struck to see that donald trump's first cross word against russia are in support of the jws.. http://fox-news24.com/trump-warns-russia-over-jehovahs-witnesses-ban-and-urges-members-to-seek-asylum-in-the-us/.

is this because trump genuinely values freedom of religion?

or is it because his son in law jared kushner has financial dealings with the jws?

I heard form couple of brothers with connection to HQ that the news is fake.

I also saw some facebook posts requesting JW members to stop sharing it.

The way i see it:

1- Trump jumped on the wagon and supports this since JW is an American religion. WTBS does not want his endorsement since due to the tension between Trump and Putin, it may back fire on JWs in their appeal. So claiming it is fake.

Or

2- It is actually Fake and should be discarded. But due to the tension between Trump and Putin, this news may back fire on JWs in their appeal.

Both ways, WTBS will not get the result they hoped in Russia.

@waton, i presume the BBC 4 programme is for UK viewers.

I asked one of the brothers about the statement by the Rev.: If church is taking our side, doesn't that make us part of this work and part for Babylon the great! Mainly when a brother quoted this in the meeting.

I did not get an answer for this, although the looks on his face gave a lot. JWs need to start thinking and using their brains.

I agree a ban is not a solution, it gets things worse for individuals and kicks off the persecution complex.

interesting point he raises is that the date the ban was announced coincided with the first day the Nazis banned JW in Germany.

I believe JWs are using this to show that the church is also supporting their case.

You need also to look for IBSA or International Bible Student Association. That's how they are registered also in UK.

Do JW members follow any directive from GB blindly?

following from the worldwide campaign to send letters to the russian government: topic covered here.. i started observing a scary trend, i got around 100 messages on multiple messaging apps, facebook and other social media posts encouraging all jws to send letter to the russian government protesting on the ban with the hope they will overturn it.. what struck me is that all are doing it and encouraging others to do it.

so, what if the gb via jw.org request something like street protests, civil disobedience, to the extreme of voting for or against a particular law or fighting (far-fetched).. what would the jw membership do, not the awakened one?

in addition, i feel this exercise exposes the awakened ones.

I noticed they asked if someone has a private business to use the business letter head in their campaign? don't understand why a business is involved not the actual person? Is this to put some pressure assuming Russia will think they lose these businesses?

JW VS Catholic

most of us know that jw despise the catholic church the most among many religions for many years.

my question is do catholic church despise jw as much as the witnesses despise the catholic faith?.

it depends on the country. I lived in a country where the Catholic church has a very heavy presence and they used the government or some officials to stop the preaching activities. Even some priests will direct a whole Sunday service against JWs.

Interesting Opening statement in a public talk

on sunday we had a talk, don't remember the title, but something about having zeal in our ministry and we are the best and have the truth stuff.

the interesting this was the opening statement.. the speaker started: we may have seen on the tv or knew about the tv evangelizers, they have lots of energy in preaching on the tv and they ask for donations by text showing on the screen and their talk is based on asking for money.. then he moved on to talk how our organization is truly supported by god...... the thing that shocked me as related to the ignorance the speaker had.

haven't he watched the jw.org tv channel?

The thing that shocked me as related to the ignorance the speaker had. Haven't he watched the JW.org TV channel? What do the GB members and their helpers do? Don't they preach on tv? Aren't they doing the same as the TV evangelizers that they used to make fun and point out how this behavior is related to Babylon the great.

On the donation side, the GB members et al, dont outright ask for money, but all their talks and presentations have a hint of donations and asking for more.
