I dont contribute at all.
But i was wondering if the above is true, then wondering what are the implications on the other congregations.
following from cedars blog.. based on what an elder told me, new congregations in uk are not eligible anymore for charitable status.
i am a member of such new congregation and they dont have charitable status.
i have searched on http://www.charitycommission.gov.uk/find-charities/ and couldnt find it.

I have searched on http://www.charitycommission.gov.uk/find-charities/ and couldn’t find it. Other Congregations including foreign were there.
I was wondering if anyone knows or can shed more insight into this.
my mom has not been to any meetings or participated in field service since august 2013. she cannot walk due to all her medical conditions.
she is either in bed or sitting in a wheel chair.. our family hired a caretaker monday - friday to help her eat, take her to the bathroom and sit with her in case she needs anything.
in the evenings and weekends, we have family members take care of her.
It is all about numbers and looking good.
They are have asked me to hand in 1 study, 4 return visits and 4 hours for studying with my child - told him politely i am not doing it . Teaching my child (whatever that would be) is my responsibility and not statistics to inflate the numbers!
Didn’t take it nicely, so this elder every month reminds me about and recently sent me the KM reference on why is should do this.
i was wondering if anyone is aware of any recordings of the convention as of yet?
i know its relatively early, so i may just have to wait.
just curious if anyone had a copy yet.. thanks!.

if you look closely at the picture on page 15 there seem to be several weird faces!
is this the art dept.
illustrating what jehovah really looks like?
What is the source of the picture? I doubt someone drew it.
we had our co visit and on his second talk he mentioned we need to be a pillar and support of the truth.
we can do this by accepting and working with all the changes, refinements and the speed of jehovahs organisation moving forward.. he listed the refinements and changes that occurred in the last couple of years:.
1- study edition of wt - allows the society to use more meaty articles and not worry about non jws understanding them.. 2- public edition of wt and awake.
WTS/GB is run as a corporate. Managers should be young but it does not matter for the Board!
something i ponder about now and again.
i don't shave that much, maybe twice a week so it's not even a big deal, but i saw someone at the health club using an electric shaver and that got me pondering all over again.. .
i've been using mach iii recently and fairly happy with that.
I used to shave using Braun electric shavers. I also used to do it twice a week. found out that wet shaving is quicker and better. The electric one gets hot on the skin and starts irritating.
The downside of wet shaving you don’t get the smooth fell of electric ones!
more questions from an uninformed ubm: do co visits all happen at the same time each year?
is now co visit season?
what does this mean in terms of harrassing inactive memebers to come to meetings?
Unfortunately, it will take her sometime. The CO visit is like a motivational speaker seminar. Will get you all pumped up and sets targets and show you what great things you are missing and privately will ask elders to link a pioneer with your wife to help her out in ministry - in addition to love bombing.
This is purely mind control and if she is not careful she will get dragged back in.
Although i am still active (learned how not to listen), since i stopped caring what happens and never get bothered what others say, we stopped fighting at home and relationship is much better. Wife is slightly dedicated but she is noticing the better person!
i have noticed that some of us are a bit too eager to label new posters as trolls.
while it is clear that there are some posters who just like to stir up trouble or are out and out apologists there are others who are witnesses starting to have genuine doubts and so ask questions but then when they see the responses the cognitive dissonance kicks in and they push back and argue with what they are being told.
this can lead to very negative reactions from jwn members and accusations that the person is a troll.
Very True. I had the same experience and met with FL_Panthers, Katewild and Laika. And they are all nice people to have around.
Text/posting does not do justice to anyone.
Frazzeled_UBM, maybe we should meet sometime, i am also near London.

He listed the refinements and changes that occurred in the last couple of years:
1- Study Edition of WT - allows the society to use more meaty articles and not worry about non JWs understanding them.
2- Public Edition of WT and Awake. Everything is written in a simpler way to help readers understand.
3- Reduction of the Magazines size from 32 to 16
4- Reduction of weekly meetings to allow more for family worship
5- Regular Pioneers can attend more than once the pioneer school
6- The new schools of Single brothers and Married couples which later got combined to school of evangelizer
7- The greater use of Audio and Video in our ministry
8- The new redesigned website. More languages are available online
9- Special metropolitan ministry - allows to capture the people who may not want to talk with us at home
10- The new Search Guide which is available in 160 languages compared to the WT Library which is only available in 40 languages.
That’s all he mentioned. I think he missed some others:
1- New tithing arrangement
2- No Bible study when CO visits
3- Scrapping of special assembly and splitting Circuit assemblies to 1 day and having it twice in a year
4- Changing the name of the District Conventions to Regional Conventions
5- Scrapping of DO and their responsibilities picked up by CO
6- CO ultimate power in instating and deleting elders and MS
7- Allowing tablets on platform
Not sure if i missed any - feel free to add!
