has anyone else seen the local congregation doing the usual field service push before the memorial?
i think its strange that we (nor our neighbors) havent seen them in the neighborhood yet.
only 2 weeks away and no territory blast?
In our congregation the push is left for the last 2 weeks, i.e starting from this week we will start leaving invites at not at homes.
Additional motivation to the brothers and sisters is that they have to report how many invites they have placed, i wonder if they will disclose how many invites were disributed in our congregation to compare with the actual amount received - that will be funny if congreagtion distributed 10,000 and we only got 8,000 invites in total .

at times i yearn for those i love that are still "in" to just wake up and smell the cult.. i end up feeling sorry for them yet angry at them at the same time.. i know each person is on their own journey and its a process,.
but i just wish the process would hurry up already!.

In my own experience when all your family (i mean 100%) is part of it it is extremely hard to cut off your ties - its like losing the whole world.
Plus thinking of the emotional impact on both parties - due to my love of my family i am willing to sacrifice!
I think there lots of people in the same situation - moving on means a major loss.
i moved into this new cong for over two years now.
we have this younger couple that are part time co's.
i know that they would be busy serving a cong when they are asked to do so, but that is not too often.
I have seen several couples and families doing the same thing. They don’t even join other groups. When they show up in the FS group they go together and say they have special arrangement so that no one goes with them. And at the meeting they will refer to this special arrangement as a special RV. The interesting part we never saw them bring anyone new to the meeting even though they have several bible studies with student fighting to be part of the WTS.
Shows how fake the annual figures published by WTS - wonder the percentage of JWs doing so and how this skews the stats.

@AlphaMan: thanks for your comments. I am actually referring to JWs using the term verbally between each other and with outsiders. I have now colleagues at work that they refer to a JW. So I think it is picking up.

When i attended the SAD this year, i noticed there was not much emphasis on the apostates or even calling them names! The only talk that touched the subject was the 4th one titled "Reject the Deceptive Power of Satan's World" This was given by a Bethel Speaker.
As the OP mentioned the key scripture was Rom 16:17. And the focus was to reject anything related to apostates in Print, in person, and on the internet.
Also added Rom7:21 - we need to protect our gates (heart and brain) from falling foul to deception - implying apostates. If we feel weak we need to seek help from the congregation.
Also there was comment about what is the difference between JWs and Apostates, and the reasoning or comment was that JWs preach the truth whereas Apostates dont do this and target JWs and dont preach.

Recently i noticed a trend, mainly found between teenagers and older techie brothers, of referring to themselves as JWs. What happened to the identity that we used to pride ourselves of holding, i quote from WT: We pride ourselves for being the only relegious organisation hat holds God's true name Jehovah.....
So now what i am seeing is that brothers refer to themselves as JWs. So are they shy of using the full name? Is it the new generation naming convention?
Is this a repeat of the Jewish history where they removed Jehovah’s name and substitute it with Lord/God/etc. Is the WTS encouraging this by replacing Jehovah with a J (only initials)?
Interested to see other friends comments.

when i was preschool, i had several dolls.
meetings were so hard at that age.
in fact, they were agony my entire life.
We have several kids in our KH. Age range between 2-5ys. All bring toys, dolls, colouring books, and recently tablets for movies of all sorts including educational material.
Never seen or heard any elder being fussed about it or a local need about this issue.
TBH, i dont see any problem with this. Keeps them quite and parents dont need to punish (abuse) the child during the meetings - i can still recall the times i was taken to the back room because i turned my head!
i only heard about these atms last year on this forum.
the poster seemed to be saying they are for donating only, is that correct?
absolutely gobsmacked over this, don't the brothers see any correlation between this and the likes of jimmy swaggart?

Yes the credit and debit card (not Amex) donations are accepted in conventions and assemblies in the UK - you should see the queue (line) for these. But for some reason they were not available at the last special day assembly.
To be honest with you, i dont mind them. I dont carry cash and when i decide i want to part a bit of my money for the rental and expenses i prefer to use cards since i have a track of everything.

so we had our co visit and we were quizzed about the "problem" of higher education as well.
Apologies for not introducing myslef - when the time allows, i will do so.
The interesting point about higher education is how it is viewed in different countries – from congregation/organisation point of view.
I have been around several places and was able to identify that in developed countries, university or higher education is basically allowing your children to sit on Satans table – totally wrong, frowned upon and lose privileges if you are a father.
On the contrary in developing countries, if you do not have a university degree basically you can’t live, university degree is ok but not going further like masters or PHD since this is considered as focusing on secular jobs and materialism.
Even though the letters are the same but I don’t think they are enforced the same everywhere.
