  The jw claim they do not have a paid clergy class but as far as I know the overseers and the people at bethel get paid enough to live in poverty.

  no, i'm not getting any doubts that the bible is any more than what i believe it is... a myth.

  however, i do have a particular question about one aspect that my jw uncle raised during one of our conversations: what about those so-called "prophecies"?

  no, i'm not talking about the vague nostradamus-like "statue made of different kinds of crap".

  sure can't think of any .I just read the wt Isaiah prophesy book .It would seem that there would be sites on the web especially after the dead sea scrolls were found with information about carbon dating and such.

  I think you are talking about the prophesy in Isaiah-45. where the name of cyrus the great is mentioned some 200 years before he was born and also tells of his conquest of babylon.At least that's when they dated the scroll of Isaiah being written.

  I Know A Lot Of DUMB ELDERS

  in over 4 decades, i have gotten to know a number of people in the organization.i have met governing body members, very prominent bethelites, co's and do's.

  i also have come to know countless elders.the majority of elders that i have known are not the brightest human beings on the planet.

  most thought they knew it all.

  I know where you are coming from minimus .They can be dim witted at times but they would only call it over zealous .There is no shortage of elders pulling stuff out their ass in texas, happens all the time.You just have to see it for yourself to believe it .

  why are all angels in jw publications male?

  i was thinking about this today, as i notice other christian religions show angels as male and female.

  do you think that this was another way of showing how males were superior to females in their teaching, or that their god "jehovah" was more favorable to the male appearance.

  SS- I think that God did not lust like the angels did and it was apparently against his own law for angels to procreate with humans and beside that jesus did not turn out to be a nephilim.Exactly how he did it would be interesting to know but I'm going with serogate mother without penetration of the vagina,some how the fetilization of the egg took place much like the test tube babies of today or perhaps an implanted embryo alltogether it's unfortunate the bible doesn't go into the scientific aspect of it .That's just my opinion of what is written..

  I think they realized they were male when a little light saber showed up between their legs wilst they were looking at all the naked women . BTW SS- I looked up what happened in genesis and it does mention the angels having relations as in sex relations and taking women as wives .It does not say the same thing in the new testament so I have to put it down as a miracle rather than doing the nasty.

  Useless Drama Pictures

  do any of you good people of jw.com remember going to a district convention and hearing that little announcement the chairman would make before the bible-drama started?.

  it generally went like this: "please remain seated during the drama and please do not obstruct other peoples view if using recording equipment such as camcorders" and he would also say "please do not use flash photography because it distracts others and is of little use.".

  they made such a fuss anyone would think we were all going to witness the second coming of christ, floating down on his chariot onto the field!

  three cheers for leggo , lol . I remember going to a convention and seeing a drama . You are not kidding about how cheezy they are with the dubbed voices and the flapping hands .We sure couldn't call it art .One that comes to mind was the elijah versus the baal worshippers drama. no pics though.

  SS- The bible does not say that God had sex with marry.

  This was one of the things I had dissagreement with the jw ,as far as who are the 144k . It does not make sense to me that women are included ,there are way too many restrictions on women in the new testament .They really got anal about it with their crappy explaination of God needing women in heaven to help earthly women overcome their problems and become perfect .Sounded like a pile of crap then and still does.

  i'm just full of questions and here's another that no one in the hall has ever answered with conviction.. they say that the church steeple is shaped like a phalic symbol (please excuse spelling mistake, mislaid my dictionary!)..

  so why then was the temple shaped in a remarkably similar fashion (the picture in the back of the big bible always worried me).

  maybe, just maybe, the church is shaped after the original temple and not .... what they say it is.

  It wouldn't surprise me if the steeple wasn't steeped in the pagan symbols of fertility . I believe all religion are cults .Maybe some pastor just wanted everyone to think he had the biggest schlong in town and try to lure the women to church lol
