I'M SOO GLAD that I was able to see that the whole "apple eating story explains the whole world" thing is retarded when I was 9 years old, because if I had to do this the hard way, it would have taken me until 40 to get the hell out of the borganization. :) I really appreciate all the hard and good work on how everything else is crap too, I thought some may appreciate the KISS approach too. Biblical evidence against 1914
by Kosonen inin god s holy word the bible you can find evidence that god s kingdom was not established in 1914. and according to the prophecies it will be estblished later in the future.
and we can not calculate the time point.
in acts 1:7 the apostles asked " lord, are you restoring the kingdom to israel at this time?

yes, start with 1975, best though is to cycle through all the dates for Armageddon or turning points if they ask for a new number (tell them there's no way to let them pick the number, "new system" requires random numbers. :) Help me out: 1914, 1918, 1925, 1940's, 1995, 1999(or 2000 for "in the 20th century"), 2012 (any witnesses talking about 2012?)

Don't get to excited, its just another sinner into Satan's world.... And then there's the loss of time for field circus. Lives could be lost because this sinful creature came into this horrible world where nothing good happens, ever. Bring_the_Light

B the X: truly awesome. I intend to keep up my bible studying just make good Bible referenced jokes.:) Statistically, driving a car in field service is an extreme sport. Dumb, dumb, dumb talk about "unnecessary" risks! You now have more light. Bring_the_Light

Observations about dubs as people...
by Princess Daisy Boo ini was thinking back on some of the people i knew growing up, as well as my own family - many of whom are dubs... tell me what your own experiences are of these kind of people, did you notice a large prevalence of these types of people in the congs you attended:.
1. health nuts: into all sorts of alternative health theories like iridology, reflexology, homeopathy etc?
2. get rich quick folk: always getting involved in this scheme or that, this business or that - especially pyramid type things?.

Dubs are always afraid, all the time. Afraid of what others think, afraid of whether they'll find people to love in their tiny incestuous community (only Dubs can litterally lose "all their friends" by pissing off a few), and afraid a lucid person might walk in and catch their mental masturbation and make them feel embarassed. I went to a Sunday meeting recently in my home congregation, in worldly clothes (I feel like it would be dishonest to dress in dub-duds, plus I don't currently own any) and I noticed clearly that the love bombing and the shunning (there was both) all came with an intense sense of insecurity on their part. The hardest thing, is there were also a couple wonderful people, mostly those who have unbelieving family. There are some dubs who believe, but don't drink the kool-aid. I'm conflicted about what to think about these ones. I've been planning to announce a symbolic disassociation announcement (never was baptised), but I need to think carefully now because there are people in that I don't want to disrespect. Its on hold until I think somemore.

Stupidest thing a JW ever told you
by Nosferatu inwhat is the stupidest thing a jw ever told you?
we all know that they say a lot of stupid things, but what really topped the cake?.
for me, it was an elder telling me i was progressing really well when my meeting attendance was down and my field service hours were slipping.

All non-dubs described as "under Satan's control" in Kook-Aid v of Washtowel studied this past Sunday. Not in Satan's controlling sytem of things, Satan controlling all individuals who do not partake of Kool-Aid. This is "nooo Light" for me. Satan's doing a nice job guiding my step, how 'bout ya'll? I didn't get nearly such fine council until I became a cog in Satans system of things. Bring_the_Light

Intelligent People on this Forum
by BenV insomeone had a thread about "smart people" in their congregations.
while i readily admit there were some "good," and "kind" jws in the congregation i grew up in.
and maybe it was the location -- my dad was asked to move there -- but for the most part it was an intellectual sahara.. yet i've noticed that on this forum there are some incredibly "smart" people.

I just went to my home congregation this Sunday. It shed more light for me. Its not "not thinking" its willfully "putting on the new personality" and willfully suppressing a continual insecurity they all carry. I previously described "spiritual masturbatio" and associated fear of getting caught in the act. You can see it very clearly if you are away for a long time and then go home where you know the people so well. It was startling how little has changed in 10 years. It was also startling how different the sameness looked to my eyes. At the same time, I came to appreciate how deeply these people got into my heart. I love everyone of them, it is home, and everyone being nuts didn't get me up in arms as much as I thought it would. I even got dub-snubed by a couple people I go way back with. It didn't make me angry, I still care about them and getting angry about their insanity is like getting angry at a barking dog. Its the nature of the beast and there is always hope it can be unlearned. It doesn't feel like anything personal after you see what's going on Psycho/Sociologically. All sense of fear, confusion or shame has left me on this issue. I fear no man and feel like I can walk into or out of this community without any internal drama at all.

I found this place after I went looking for old friends after being gone about ten years. I found a whole buncha crazy and it lit a fire to stir the coals a bit where before I just sort of wandered away. As soon as I wasn't required to be a JW, I just plain never had the inclination. Now I'm going back and doing it right, not just knowing the WTS ain't god, be learning the actual proof of the matter, assessing the damage, and being angry about it. It feels good to be angry. its helping me get over the last 5% of icky feelings I carry from my experience.

You mentioned being forgetful of the names of smart people. Its "Bring_the_Light", it's easy to remember, just think of the "Light" and what a super-smart person would do with it. :D
