a few weeks ago i had an really interesting conversation with three male jws who were loitering around a trolley at the west end of princes street in edinburgh.. i managed to completely avoid giving any hint about my jw past and focussed on why they thought the bible was a reliable moral guide.
i used the subject of slavery to illustrate my concerns.. one of the three was in his early twenties, knew a lot about his own beliefs but nothing about the real life and it was difficult to get through his thought-bubble.
the second one was in his 60s and not very bright.
and wonder where human civilization had been without slavery as the backbone.
So your saying that human slavery helped to advance humanity in improving its over all sociological behavior ?
Religions and their established set of beliefs have been a form of mental and social slavery and many times have been responsible for crippling humanity in improving the life of humans.
Religions have been responsible in the avocation of human ignorance since humans involved themselves in supernatural beliefs.

Keeping the environment clean could also involve the human consumption of animals as a food source which has actually caused deadly viruses to effect humans in recent years.
I agree though that Greta needs to travel to India and China and spread the awareness of planet's environment to those countries which we are biologically connected to.
A sick polluted planet makes sick humans.
The planet is now trying to fight its own attacking virus which humans are deliberately responsible for.

hello all, i'm 'researching', a jw who is in the first steps of taking a look at their beliefs.. i've semi-recently (about a couple weeks ago) heard about the sexual abuse cases (pennsylvania attorney general’s investigation request) and then the arc in 2015. this lead to a deep investigation, which lead to many questions arising.
a jw friend of mine suggested i be careful (due to apostates) and ask the brothers.
so i typed up my questions + concerns and emailed an elder my mother has known for a long time.
By the way trying to draw out factual information that may some way be demeaning or damaging toward "The" organization by its own supporting members like the elders or CO's, will only result in a prearranged scripted answer that may actually be full of lies and half truths.
For example recently a GB member A Morris gave a talk discussing the recent accusations of the organization concealing incidences of pedophilia, he said " Well we didn't know that child sexaul abuse was a unlawful crime.
Lying to protect the image of the organization is a constant plying endeavor with its engaged members, its expected and encouraged for all, from the very top GB members down .

Research all you have to do is stop going and shut up about the religion altogether, its activities and doctrines to your mother or whoever..
Being that your baptized the door is now open to those elders to disfellowship at your congregation , based upon being an opposing apostate.
These elders like to do that because it reasserts their own elevated power and its a show of loyalty to Jehovah for themselves and his earthly organization.
They are going to try and hurt you to their digression, only if you let them.
The qestion is are going to let them ?
They will try to lure you into saying something and guilt you out at the same time in the process.
The correct answer and objective is to simply say your going to keep your findings and decision personal to yourself. .......and be poignantly firm about that !
i wonder if there will be panic buying of food, guns, gas ect due to the corona virus.

buying fat free powder milk, bullion cubes, rice, beans dried, and other things that has a shelf life of 25 years.
Its always practical to have substances to live off from if there is a environmental calamity such as earthquake, floods, storms etc.
So yes I store nonperishable food items, water, a cooking devise, candles, a first aid kit, backup battery packs for cell phones, a portable generator for home appliances or whatever.
Having some cash stored away too is advisable for if the electricity goes down so does the debit card / credit card buying capability which you may have to have to buy things.
This absolutely has nothing to do with the fear mongering aspects coming from the JWS religion, this is based upon reality of facts and consequences.
