  gb anthony morris gave the final talk on friday's 2007 follow the christ dc.

  in the talk he gives reasons for the r&f to trust the fds specifically the gb.. the talk is nauseating, but shows how desperate the gb has become.

  they're losing control of the r&f and they know it.. jwd member booby originally posted this speech on the "gb solidifies ownership" thread.

  found this online, for those of you who don't know, during the 1960s and 1970s, the watchtower society occasionally used the translation of the new testament by johannes greber to support their similar renderings of john 1:1 and matthew 27:52,53. in 1983 they officially stopped using his translation because of its "close rapport with spiritism.

  " the information that geber was a spiritist was readily available to the society's writers.

  in 1955 and 1956 the society's writers themselves wrote of greber's spiritism.

  I heard a talk one time where the speaker discouraged helping worldly people in need. His counsel was the direct opposite of what Jesus taught in his Good Samaritan parable. My sister-in-law, not an apostate, turned to me and said, "This guy is wack!" A Bible student was also there and never came back.

  V you're going to ruin the reputation of apostates by being so cordial and reasonable to the naysayers. You're supposed to be a wicked, evil, unreasonable manslayer. It's so much harder to condemn you when you appear to be a human being with an actual heart and brain.

  When you were a Jw did you have a relationship with God?

  difficult to understand how even heavys that taught about having a relatinship with god now proclaim that it was imagined after leaving the truth.

  puts into question appointments and people serving.

  i can understand if some one new leaves the org.

  when i had money problems i would pray to god for help.....i never got any envolopes with cash delivered to me anonomously.

  {like some pioneers} ..unless i got off my butt and earned some cash my problem remained.....when i was sick i would pray to get well...but only the doctor was any real help.....so i ask you, is jehovah or god just your imaginary friend to stop you from feeling alone?

  I never felt a closeness to Jehovah the way other Dubs claimed to. You know, the crazies who mentioned the name "Jehovah" every 2 seconds in their conversations. As a kid I prayed alot "forgive me for thinking this, forgive me for thinking that"- you know, the Big Motivator: Guilt. But I have always felt a closeness to God and the spiritual and moreso when away from the Borg. I'm not a believer in fate but then sometimes things happen that make you go, "Wow- I can't believe that just happened. It's just what I needed and this feels like an extraordinary event, not just an accident."

  If you could say just one thing to help free a JW...

  i guess it's seven years or so since i left, and back then i knew exactly what i would say when members of my cong would come and see me about my absence.

  strangely, no one, not one, came and talked about my sudden absence.

  i had actually planned a small speech that i could use when friends or the elders eventually came to see me.

  Tell them "I've met a lot of Moonies in my area that need to hear the truth. So I read a great book by a former Moonie named Steve Hassan. In the book he lists several things that identify the Moonies as a cult." Then show them those identifying marks and hope some lights go on. "Wait a minute," says their brain, "Those sound like the same things I see in the Truth (TM). Loaded language, information control, shunning, etc. Let me read more of that book."

  Okay, maybe their responding to this is unlikely, but I was raised to give optimistic presentations like this for books in service.
