I would take that as meaning anything actually IN the bible,the writings of Paul,James'&Jude etc as well as the actual words of Jesus,but to EXCLUDE anything outside of the Bible.
Thus the ramblings of the WTBS are not TRUTH,by their own admission.

JWs and Domestic Violence
by Amha·aret ini remember when i was in my early teens finding out about a jw brother who was hitting his jw wife.
her parents were also witnesses and were disgusted with his behaviour (and rightly so).
i was completely shocked at the time, thinking those kinds of things just didn't happen among a loving brotherhood.

The whole headship and submission thing is just another bit of scripture that the WTBS has got TOTALLY wrong.But even if you accept their crap exegesis it says in the NWT "As the Christ is head of the congregation" Does Christ abuse the Congo. in any way?
There is no excuse,no mitigation for DV and any B of E that dosn't tackle it are reprehensible cowards.

Natural Hot spring near my home! Have you tried this! HOT!
by Witness 007 in40 minutes drive to a new resort built at mornington natural hot thermal springs....it's very relaxing in winter to enjoy a hot spa in natural spring water that is replaced every 30 minutes.
the area is surrounded by wineries and beer brewers and farms....japanese and russians come from miles to enjoy this as part of their culture.

How far away from their original beliefs are JW's?

quite a bold statement.. how about these two quotes beside each other:.
we would not refuse to treat one as a brother because he did not believe the society is the lord's channel.

The few beliefs that they retain from their start in the late 1800's are not unique to JW's (no fiery Hell, no immortal soul ,no trinity) and were borowed from elsewhere in the fist place.
I asked an active Dub a while ago why would I be DF'd today for teaching the stuff they taught when Jesus supposedly chose them in 1919? and then went on to ask about the evolution of Dub beliefs,but he hasn't come back to me.
They are not very far away from their early stuff,because it has been an evolutionary process, but they are MILES from the truth

are jws qualified to teach the bible?

To be truly qualified to teach on the Bible,they would need to know what it ACTUALLY says,and only using the laughable NWT they cannot have a clue.
I found in recent years that a good 98% of Witlesses cannot even defend their own beliefs from their own Bible unless they use something like "Reasoning on the Scriptures" and then they have no concept of the context etc. of the verses they pull out.
Hardly qualified to teach! They should be prosecuted under the "Trades Description Act" !

Defence of watchtower society Links
by reniaa ini thought long and hard before making this thread, that many will not agree with it but i think there needs to be balance and people to realise there are alternate viewpoints out there on many of these subjects, the ones that are most spoke about on this forum.
i was recently sent a full message containing mary's book and these links give the rebuttal to many of her points.
those that are still open-minded enough feel free to look over them even if in the end you still don't agree at least you have heard both the defence as well as the attack as they are on the internet.

Being born in,in the early 1950's, I go back to pre-historic times !
I can remember an assembly held in Maidstone !
I walked down Union Street with sandwich boards on advertising the Suday PT,(I was about 8yrs old)
It was when the Prime Minister ,Harald McMillan had just made the claim that Brits had never had it so good,and the District Servant of the time,a well known wag called John Blaney said from the platform "Youv'e never been Had so good!"
Come someone make me feel good and go further back than that!
